I played with throwing weapons on my rogue a good while back but this thing has been collecting dust for years now so I figure i'll let it go.
Put a slab of any metal inside, turn it, press it, and puts a HURLable shard of that metal. Fun toy, I dont know how many it makes from a shard.

Lets start the bidding off at an easy 6m silvers or cash at $5/mil
MB: 6M
CB:
BO: 12m
Sold on BO

Original BO still wanted the box.
Sold and delivered.

(update every 24 hrs, once, twice, sold -- Delivery in Landings or FWI )

s>look box
The oak leaf-shaped box appears relatively unremarkable except for a small door recessed into the bottom of the box, and a tiny opening at the top. A small area on top of the box looks as though it's designed to be depressed. There appears to be a heavy steel slab inside.

s>turn box
Your fingers find a small recessed key in the oak leaf-shaped box, and with a quick turn, you can hear the soft metallic click of it winding.

sR>press box
You press the box, and feel the steel shard spring into your hand!

H>hurl ogre
With a quick flick of your wrist, you deftly send a thin steel shard into flight.
You throw a thin steel shard at a large ogre!
AS: +200 vs DS: +41 with AvD: +25 + d100 roll: +19 = +203
... and hit for 46 points of damage!
Well placed strike shatters a rib!
The large ogre is stunned!
You notice that the steel shard deforms slightly as you use it!
The steel shard is lodged in a large ogre's chest!
Roundtime: 4 sec.

The wiki is a great source of information, but it's not complete. Here is more useful information unless something changed in the 10 years since I sold one. The device is belt worn and capable of storing a great many projectiles in a loaded state within, ready to be sent flying into your awaiting hand when the device is pressed. Within there is a lever that is flippable allowing one to create shards which are dagger base or slivers which are dart based. Each projectile has a certain number of used before they bend and break. While in hiding when retrieving your projectiles from the ground you will not be pulled out of hiding. There is also some zesting that I will include below. It's a fun toy for sure.

Get shard: You get your vultite shard, tossing it into the air and deftly catching it in a ready position!

Push shard: You tip your palm forward, letting the vultite shard fall a bit before you snatch it up between two fingers, ready to let the vultite shard fly.

Didn't know shards could be recovered while staying hidden. That is a rogue Gambit but can you provide a log for another profession doing it?

Sold on BO

Grim: You are correct.
I just tried this with a 19 war and trained her up in hide/throwing. She was not able to recover the shard. I did not know that was a rogue gambit, I just happen to try this out on my rogue and assumed it was new to the game since I played last.

The BO person will have the chance to back out if they wish.
