How much do you need to function?

How much do you usually get?

What are you like if you don't get enough?

And... have your sleeping patterns changed in your life?

Myself, I sleep all the damn time. I can function on about 8 hours of sleep. I generally get ten hours or so unless I wake up for something. If I don't get enough I'm very quiet and bleary-eyed and depressed. As for changes... since about two and a half years ago, I've slept during the day and been awake at night, more due to avoiding people I lived with and work schedules than anything. I like it a lot. Being awake at night rocks.

What are you like if you don't get enough?
Quiet, moody, crabby

And... have your sleeping patterns changed in your life?

I've gone from midnight shift to days many times.

I also am a nightowl...for generally the same reasons. :P

I need a lot of sleep. Like I could sleep from 10 at night till 10 in the morning. And I can't function at all.

If I get 10 or 8 hours, I'm still tired as hell and just want to go back to sleep. If I get like 3, I'm totally awake for about two hours before I crash. And I am a super bitch when I'm tired... like if you sing or talk to me or make loud movements or breathe too loud, watch tv too loud, bang something... you're a dead man! I also get headaches if I'm tired..

I get from 4-6 hours of sleep a night.

I can go for about a week averaging four hours or even a little less but after a week to ten days it builds up and I'll crash on a sat or sun for a good 10-12 hours.

I was getting like 2-4 hours for a while, but that did mess me up a bit after a while.

Six hours a night is plenty for me so far at least though.

And yeah, night time is the best, I love shopping late, working late at home, I'm really productive when I work on things at night.

How much do you need to function?

I'd guess about 3 or 4, but I've never really gotten less than 6.

How much do you usually get?

Not enough. Usually about 6 or 7. I prefer to get 8 or 9.

What are you like if you don't get enough?

Clumsy and out of it.

And... have your sleeping patterns changed in your life?

They change every summer, when I pretty much become nocturnal or stay up all night many times.

I need my 7-8 else I am sore and grouchy all day. I never used to be able to go to sleep, but now I don't have that problem so much as sleeping past 7am, no matter when I go to bed

I have to have at least 6 hours a night. More if I can get it.

How much do you usually get?

I usually average about 7 hours a night, during the week, and less on the weekends.

What are you like if you don't get enough?

If I can't get enough sleep, I'm cranky, and have trouble concentrating.

And... have your sleeping patterns changed in your life?

My sleeping patterns never change. I'm not a night owl. Never have been. I can stay up late on the weekends if I know I don't have anything to do in the morning. As a rule, I seldom sleep past 6am. Sometimes I'm up as early as 4:30am, roaming the lands hunting, because the rest of the world is still asleep and I'm bored.

Hmm... I have a weird sleep schedule. If left to myself with no obligations, my body works on a 36 hour schedule, so I wind up gradually sleeping through the day then gradually sleeping through the night.

But, when I am required to get up for something, I like to get at least seven or eight hours. I get really irritable. I mean, REALLY. I am most definitely not a morning person. Hell, even if I have had enough sleep, I am not at my most patient and understanding when I first wake up.

My friends have a rule. None of them calls before two in the afternoon... just in case. They've all been treated to an ass roasting by a grouchy Dex.

My sleeping patterns... pretty much always been like this. I remember being in elementary school and my mother would come dress me while I was still in bed. Like... pulling my pants on me while I was still sleeping. Yeah.

I love sleep.

I am a nightowl. I just sleep better during the day. I would love 8hrs of sleep but it seems impossible. I usually get 4 or 5 hrs sleep. If I don't get at least 5 hrs then I'm a crabby bitch from hell.

I've never been a morning person, but I can force myself to function on around 3-4 hours of sleep for a few days at a time, if necessary.

When I do sleep, I do it heavily. I also talk in my sleep, mumble, yell, and have been found sleepwalking on five or six occassions.

My sleep patterns vary greatly, due to my (lack of a) work schedule. I'm on call, so I go in whenever I'm needed. 6-8 hours usually is good for me, but I find I'm alright with 5-6 hours. Sometimes (like today) I sleep all afternoon from 12 or 1 til about 6pm or so...sometimes I sleep like from 4-10...sometimes 12pm-5am. It all depends, really, I guess....

I get 6-8 a night.

I can and have functioned on as little as 3 a night for two weeks straight, also functioned on 36 hours at work 12 off rotation and that 12 was generally spent crashing.

I'm the kind of person that goes from dead asleep to fully functioning in five minutes. I can wake up and be showered, shaved and out the door in under 15.

If I don't get enough sleep my reaction time and judgement go but I'm still generally in a good mood but my fuse does get alittle shorter.

I like mornings but I'm all about partying until 5 in the morning so I guess I'm flexable in that regard.

Got most of my sleep habits/parterns from the Marines. We learn to be Semper Gumby

I sleep in 90 minute cycles, as long as I get around 90 minute multiples of sleep I'm fine. Right now I aim for 6 hours of sleep (go to sleep around 1-2 am, get up in time for my 8am or 9 am class).

I usually get 5-6 a night I'd say. Weekends only about... 3-5 a night. I usually take naps before practice or work, naps do me wonders, even 30 minute naps seem to refresh me when I can wake up from them. If i'm extremely tired I get somewhat stupid and silly along with weak.

Happy Birthday, Sintik! *gives Sintik a senior citizen's eat free coupon at Friendly's* You gotta use that by 5pm on a weekday. That won't be a problem for you, you're usually in bed by that time, gramps.

I believe the fact that I'm posting at 4 in the morning speaks volumns of my inconsistant sleep patterns.

I love to sleep, sometimes to the point that my fiance is starting to think I'm narcoleptic. I can make it through the day on 4-6 hours of sleep. Everything after that is just icing.

The only time I'm cranky is if you wake me up rudely, in other words, shaking or startling me, or just yelling at me to wake up. Alarms, kisses and snuggles work great (although the snuggles may set me back into slumber) but I need to be awoken like a baby... calmly. If you wake me up with a vigorous shake, I hope for your sake that the house is on fire.

I am fortunate. I go from dead asleep to full awake without pause. I require at least six hours of sleep per 24 hours to be in top form, but can do with less for a day or two. My sleeping patterns are erratic, but I like it that way. Thank all the PTB, I can work from home much of the time. I tend to be a night-owl. :D

Sleep is a good thing for me. I guess I could get by on around 8 hours of sleep a night but I'm weird in the way I sleep. I hate mornings yet I was wide awake at 6:30 am today. Since I didn't nap or do anything else restful during that time I'll be up for 26 hours or so before I finally get to go back to bed. Ahhh work, gotta love it. I work really screwy schedules but I'm pulling 30 hours in a 2 day period, it doesn't seem bad but by Friday I'll be wanting to kill someone. When I was still in school and towards the end I was putting in 70 hours between school/work all week long I would pass out for around 24 hours when I finally got a break. Haven't done that for a while but it's not unknown for me to crash out for 15 hours at a time. Like I said, I'm weird... Friends of mine know not to bother me when I'm in bed, it's not pretty. And when I start getting depressed again I sleep more than normal, if that is even possible.

I need coddling to wake up if someone else is waking me up. I tend to wake up angry.
