What is everyones view on The Bryant case, and what do you think of Colorado's state law
For those that don't know it:
Once a change has been entered in
The state of Colorado, Removes the charges placed by the person, and makes the charges come from the state
(so the state is now charging the person, not the person originally
So no out of Court Settlement is possible

I think Kobe had sex with her, which makes him scum, but I don't think it was rape.
I base this on what has been reported so far, stating that the girl gave him a tour of the resort upon his arrival, and later accompanied a room service cart to his room (which is against that particular hotel's policies, according to the media).
My feeling is that they made arrangements during the tour to meet when he called for room service. I can't imagine she didn't know why. Maybe I'm being cynical, but I've seen a lot of girls do things they regret and instead of taking responsibility for their idiot behavior, they blame it on the guy. This creates a lot of unfair suspicion when a girl really DOES get raped or taken advantage of. It's wrong, but it's what's been happening.
With regards to the Colorado laws saying an out of court settlement is no longer possible, this doesn't eliminate the money motivation on the part of the girl. If a conviction is obtained, or even if it ISN'T, they can still sue Kobe in civil court for damages. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that will happen regardless.

I haven't heard all the evidence but from what I have heard. The girl making the accusations is kind of screwed up and has done this sort of thing before. So yeah Kobe was naughty and cheated on his wife. But from what I have heard so far is that it was consentual and now the girl is basically looking for money, in my opinion. Oh no though she doesn't want people to know who she is. Heh.
See maybe her plan got screwed up.. I *think* she was hoping for some quick cash by threatening Kobe. She probably just wanted to keep it under the table.. no media and stuff, thinking he would do a quick settlement thing to keep her mouth shut. Apparently he wasn't going to let her off that easy, or at least as easy as she let off the pootay! LOL!

Actually If she doesn't win, she gets nothing, Colorado moves in mysterious ways, Check this out, i was charged with stealing my OWN car, I went to utah for what was suppose to be 40 days, two days after i left, My mother leaves town, since she pulled out the loan for me to get it, and i was paying her, the car was legally hers, even tho I had temp regestration and title, Anyways, while I was out, when my mom left,(we've had two cars stolen) she changed the title from her name to her friends name, I come back 8 days later, no one knows i'm back, I take the car, Her friend reports it stolen, I get charged, they didn't tell'em who did it, or nothing, even gave him the wrong court date JUSt to get another conviction, to bad they fucked up, When I had someone call my friend, who then got ahold of my moms friend and got it cleared up, Colorado is Divious, and what they can to make money, they ended up losing money from me, False inprisonment, i made 155 per day i was in jail watching the simpsons!

I don't really care too much about the case...but just an interesting perception I noticed. Kobe, as a defendent, will have to take the stand in this criminal case. (For most of you who don't know when a criminal case is involved defendents don't take the stand cause they will get murdered by the prosecutor-Unlike what is seen on TV.) He already admitted his guilt so if he doesn't there is no way that he won't get jail time out of it. And he better be on his best game when he does.

I agree with SpunGirl, I also feel there is motivation behind her actions.

Colorado is what, Solkern? Divious? OK. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to say you seem like someone with an axe to grind against Colorado law enforcement in general.
The responding officer to a complaint doesn't always get the exact information. The operator could have misinformed him, or perhaps the person calling said, "I'm a next door neighbor," without giving an address or contact name (calling on a cell). I love how people who are so quick to trash cops are usually the ones who find themselves in the most trouble (never their fault, of COURSE).

She's up to something, and with that alone I don't trust her motivation to accuse him of rape. Granted he had an affair with her, and he knew he did wrong. I just don't completely believe that she was raped.
First of all, she made the report about 12 hours later. She went home, thought about it, spoke to I believe her parents and in all that time she never showered since they found evidence of him on her. Now I may be wrong, and I'll admit when I am, but when people get raped, the first thing they want to do is shower. You don't go to a party and think it over to make sure you were raped. If you were, you KNOW. You don't have to be convinced that you were, and if that's the case, she's looking for compensation.
I'm also against her going to his room in the first place. I have a feeling that she went there for sex and found that she didn't like it halfway through and left. Do I condone rape of any kind regardless of whether she was alone or not? Not at all. However when you don't have a witness and willingly go to a place where you're not safe from a stranger and have no means of a quick escape, then it's just asking for trouble. Do I think she deserved what she got if she was in fact raped? Not on your life and I don't condone his actions at all. I just don't think she's completely blameless in all of this.
She also has personal issues. She attempted suicide twice within a year, three months (or was it six months) prior to this incident over a breakup. She's not all there in the noggin'.
Just too many holes in their stories, especially hers, to make me completely believe the rape charge.

I believe her that she was raped. She told a co worker or something and she had visible bruises a day later. I also think predators can find "victims" so to speak. That she has attempted suicide in the past just shows that she is a victim and that any predator would likely key in on her. Some people just have very large targets on their back.
Do i know any of this as fact? Heck no its just my opinion of things so far and could change tomorrow if more facts came out. Id actually watch this on court tv if it was on and i didnt watch OJ.
