Fuck police and their day 1 n00b's in bright yellow shirts setting speedtraps ON A CORNER. Also fuck them for the fact there IS no posted speed limit, I drove back and checked on purpose so they could see me.

Hope my money serves one of em well.

The fine/points worth going to court over? Sounds like if there's no posted speed limit then you at least have a chance of lowering the violation.

Or getting the judge to boot it out even.

Course, you could always give em one of these ...

Ugh. Two speeding tickets in a month SHAFTS your insurance bill. I'm going to be driving like a grandmother for years.

They got me as well a few months back. Driver Schooled one (turned out very cheap to my surprise) and paid for the other.

Of course we will be paying for awhile, as insurance doesn't give two shits if you did driver school.

I always decided to appear in court rather than pay via mail. If you appear/contest and the officer doesnt show then its dismissed. If you live in a large city then your court will likely be at night, which gives you a greater probability of being there when the officer is either off/asleep or when he decides not to attend his pre-assigned court duty. I had my last 2 tickets dismissed for this very reason.

And yes, new cops with the 'catch all' and 'enforce all' mentality suck. I wish they would educate them on the concept of discretionary authority and how to apply it reasonably and fairly... and ethically.

When it's time to meet the ticket quota, they're always parked in this driveway by the college. They watch for speeding and at this road to see if you stop dead. I didn't and that's how I got my first ticket. Ever since then I stop DEAD and pause three seconds before going.

I just got my first speeding ticket on Friday night. Some old State Trooper clocked me going 63 in a 45. And you KNOW the guy ONLY did speeding ticket traps.. because he was so old I doubt he can handle any crime.

$180.50 and 4 points on my license unless I do some online driving school class and then it's $140 and no points.

Fuckers.

I know a couple of people that got off speeding tickets because there was no actual posted speed limit.

The way I see it though, if there IS a posted limit then stick to it. If you don't and you get caught, tough shit. If I'm driving too fast and I get caught then I suck it up, it's my own fault for not sticking to the legal limit.

I was driving from Tallahassee to Tampa down Route 19 which has all these small fucking hick towns that you go from 65 to 35 and then back up to 65.

I'll never go that route again. It's shorter, but takes just as much time going I75 to I10.

Fuckers.

Same thing happened to me while I was driving through Oklahoma. My dad went the wrong way, so I found a road that would take us back to the interstate instead of driving backwards to get back on track. It was a hick town too, and the speed limit kept changing from ,like, 50 to 70, and back, Some cop caught me RIGHT after going into the lower limit zone.

Well, I just got off the phone with Stunseed and indeed there was no posted speed limit AND he was over the speed limit by less then 10 miles an hour. It was 9 miles actually. I told him I'd go to court and try to get it dismissed personally. The ticket was 80 bucks, not sure on the points though. I know in Oklahoma, where I live, if it's less the 10 miles per hour over the speed limit a lot of times it can be dismissed.

I hope he at least tries to go to court and see if it can be taken off, for his driving record's sake at least. Don't spose the money is too big of a deal, but 80 bucks is still 80 bucks. And yeah, insurance will go up. :(
