Here I was trying to fight cobras and these two barge through. I took a cobra skin off a cobra I killed and I left the room and left the other cobra to them. They chase me down when I get back from town and here is what happened.

I hope they get their asses kicked. Jeezus, if they wanted to RP being jungle-dwelling miscreants who kill people for fun, at least they could talk, or say something. Though I highly doubt that's what the case was.

This is a lot of trouble to go through just because someone killed me out of the blue. Don't they have systems to tell them when a player is killed by another player?

Qahaar is an idiot, Ive almost killed him numerous times as my cleric, in the crypt. Ive seen him try and kill quite a few people. I think Reyek almost killed him once too, cant remember the exact details.
[edit: when I say almost killed, I mean sat there watching him behave like an idiot trying to intimidate and kill people, and wanted to kill him. I'm not a fan of killing others though, so I controlled myself and just argue with him verbally rather than physically]

Klaser/Qahaar (same person) up to their stupid mech abuse again today on the Boulder, attacking and healing so the empath can gain exp.

I guess it's not bad enough that it's so transparent they are one and the same, he has to violate policy while doing it. Oh, and let's not forget having one character come to the other character's aid in a conflict. Someone needs a chat with a GM in a lounge.

Poaching a kill isn't reason for PvP, at least according to official policy. Your most appropriate action would've been to report what, in the log, seems to be AFK scripting.

Klaser
10-04-2003, 01:10 AM
Either way, he deserved what he got, AFK script hunting is for idiots. Killing him doesnt even weigh against AFK script hunting.

peam
10-04-2003, 01:23 AM
I wasn't trying to correct your actions. Rather, I was just informing you of the potential consequences.

A second scripting offense is an automatic 30 day ban. That hurts much worse than a deed.

JustMe
10-04-2003, 01:33 AM
IcyPoison seems to have a habit of telling the half-truth about everything trying to make people join his side. This is the 2nd time he's done it. IcyPoison, if you're going to post stuff, post the whole thing before you try to make others look bad.

Scott
10-04-2003, 01:34 AM
Considering he put a spell up after you casted at him, I doubt he was AFK scripting....

Asshole poaching, but not AFK scripting. I would have killed him too though.

Caramia
10-04-2003, 02:39 AM
Either way, he deserved what he got, AFK script hunting is for idiots. Killing him doesnt even weigh against AFK script hunting.

You're right, killing him weighs much worse!

Because killing someone who is AFK scripting means you don't have consent from them and that, my friend, is PvP. Poaching is not consent to PvP, unless the person is doing it on purpose to harass you. Then they're pretty much asking for it.

I know both Qahaar and Klaser, they are in the crypt often. Though Qahaar has a temper, he's not one to strike without reason. Icyion you should be ashamed that you told the GMs that you had no interaction with him prior. You should also be ashamed that you only posted the part of the post that made you look like the victim. I second what Qahaar & Klaser did and I would do the same had you poached on me and ignored my comments.

Although i do not know Klaser (although someone at one point told me he wanted me dead. Cant remember why they said he did, but i didnt take it seriously anyways, cause i didnt know him) Ive hunted qith Qahaar at Anwyn once or twice, and he was really really nice... I wouldnt side with how they dealt with it, simply because i RP someone who would most likely just put em to sleep instead of kill them, i understand their decision completely.

That should read: every single time.

Ok, I really can’t do this anymore. I am not so idiotic that I can’t use spell check before I post. It is amusing how this post has gone from being about those two to me ::laughs to himself:: as you can see Elanthia does revolve around The Edine

Perhaps we can start one of those midday soap operas… As Elanthia Turns? Edine as the main character of course

Hmmph. I think it might better be entitled "As the Worm Squirms". :P

Who said that?

Rastaman
10-04-2003, 11:40 PM
The reason this thread has turned to the mocking of you, Edine, is not because Elanthia evolves around you. It's because you posted here and made a fool of yourself. If you hadn't posted here no would be discussing your idiocy.

10-04-2003, 11:46 PM
You know I really wish I watched them so I could come up with a witty response but I can’t.

And as to the one who keeps insulting me It is obvious you missed the intention of the words spelled wrong after your first post. I guess my sometimes subtle humor goes lacking with some. But don’t worry, I wont insult you and call you a “Idiot” as you seem to think I am. May I ask why your first post ever was one directed at insulting me? Just to feed my curiosity

had an extra not in there ::ducks:: now that was unintentional

Oh, WAIT! Now I remember why I thought 'Edine' was female....

BECAUSE IT IS!

It's Scottish, and it means "Woman from Edinburgh"!

geeze... what a putz.

Also, up until the mid to late 60's, I believe an occasional colloquialism was to call a man an 'Edine' to insult them, as it ment he was a male prostitute that preferred male customers.

Just to verify:

http://pregnancy.parenthood.com/babynames_searchresults.html?searchName=Edine

There you have it. Not only his his name unoriginal, its a woman's name.

Chadj
10-05-2003, 02:19 PM
bah, so what about the name? Maybe it was a coincidence? Maybe he didnt know what it meant? And its not all THAT unoriginal... MY name is a lot more unoriginal, and there are even worse ones out there.

How ive come to a position where im defending Edine, im not quite sure yet. I think i need to be smacked upside the head.

Well hell I didn’t know that... its pronounced Ed-ine.... I am not from Scottish decent.... and well your hint at the sexual nature of it is unproven and unfounded but please continue this is quite amusing… granted I was far form even a twinkle in my parents eyes in the 60’s so I could be incorrect. And please really I am nothing like Klaive so try not to slander me anymore like that it’s not very kind.

Sorry

It was my first attempt at a 'flame' and may have over did it just a tad. In any case, I couldn't really resist, considering the absolute pomposity of your name being

THE Edine,

I mean... I have all these totally useless tidbits of information rattling around in my brain, and to have an opportunity to use some of them dropped in my lap practically GIFT WRAPPED... well, heh

I couldn't resist :bouncy:

Sorry, i'll try to hold back a bit on the caliber of the ammunition I use next time. I hadn't expected anyone to actually feel the urge to verify the information, seeing as how I've never lied to anyone in my life. I thought it even stranger that someone on the web posted it somewhere too... heh.. that makes TWO people in the world with totally useless bits of information rattling around in their brains

Actually, I'm afraid I have to disagree with you there. What made it irresistable to take a poke at you was the undeniable "tongue-in-cheek" method you approach your self-extolment. I'm afraid Klaive takes himself much too seriously.

Heh.. I can't quite remember, but I THINK it was Klaive who was after me for almost a year straight, trying to talk me into selling my Corasine Longsword. Crovannent (spelling?) was just as bad, both of them breathing down my neck constantly. Was one of the reasons why my favorite character went right back to sleep again. GOD I wish I had managed to aquire the matching Estoc to use with it :(

I guess they just couldn't understand the concept of "I never sell anything once I've purchased it", because I only buy things I really like or want/need. Those aspects of me NEVER change. I may add things of interest or appreciation to the existing pile
that is me, but I never give up the things I allready like.

I guess im sort of a 'long term' kinda person :)

Whoa, talk about mind wandering. I thought this was a discussion about how Edine is/isn't like Klaive.

Though the thread name would suggest it is about Klaser/Qahaar.

10-06-2003, 02:09 PM
WEZAS! you know elanthia is centered on The Edine how amy times must I tell you that!... but in all honistly i really hope nobody assumes im like klaive ( the klaive comment was scarcatic, somebody i think on another thred said i was just like him.... or was it this one... im to lazy to check)

I actually find it rather difficult to believe this poster is actually the same player who plays Edine in the game.

While I haven't spent any great deal of time with Edine there, I have been around in one form or another while he was talking in the room... and never noticed the lack of spelling skill. I think I would have noticed that.

Strange.

Rastaman

Edine, if you want to be taken seriously your communication skills need to advance beyond a third grade level.

"How amy times"
"honistly"
"thred"

Thats just pathetic. If I had a son and he was in the fourth grade and still typed that poorly, I'd be meeting with his teachers.

I'm not sure it's a matter of typing poorly as it is typing too fast. His brain is spitting out thoughts quicker then his fingers can type. I had that problem at one time. Either slow down the typing or preview the post before posting is the solution.

91wpm/no errors

Horseshit. Who uses preview? Unless my post includes a couple quotes or such.. I never do.

It's common grammar and spelling that shouldn't be that difficult to use.. ESPECIALLY when playing a text game. It SHOULD be almost 2nd nature to you.

Even this small post... no capitals, lack of punctuation... it's downright sad.

And like I said previously.. I have my doubts that the poster using the "The Edine" user name here is the same player of the character in the game. The character in the game that I interacted with a few months back was able to type out english that wasn't completely full of errors. I am certain I would have been distracted by it had he done so.

HappyGuyJr
10-06-2003, 07:07 PM
Actually, I use preview quite a bit. I HAVE to. I type too fast, am a crappy typist in general, and since my brain is allready 6-8 thoughts ahead of whatever it is hitting my hands for expression, war breaks out for control

I can push 50-55 wpm with no errors, or you can suffer under the barrage of 180+ just chock FULL of unintelligible/illiterate goodness! :D

I've actually found myself having to go back and re-edit my posts 3 or 4 times when I'm simply thinking about too many things. Movie I'm watching on the home theater, the anime window I have up on my 3rd monitor, the mp3's I'm listening to, the book I'm writing... combine that with a psychotic cat that acts like he hasn't been given any attention in over a year and concentration can lag now and then  :bouncy: :spin:

10-06-2003, 07:14 PM
You doubts are unfounded; I assure you I am the player of Edine. If you question that ask me in the game. I have said many, many times before that spelling is not something I am very skilled at. Some people do well with applied things like math and science. Everyone excels at something; spelling and grammar have always been a weak point for me... I don't recall ever getting an A on a spelling test... and if it wasn't for spell check I don’t know how I would have gone though school.

There everything spelled correctly and it took me three times as long to type it up.

10-06-2003, 07:34 PM
oh I also want to add... It is not about previewing the post... its about reading what I type after I'm done

Caramia
10-07-2003, 06:36 PM
Caramia
In Italian, Cara means "beloved" and Mia means "my". Together they mean "my beloved", as the phrase caramia.

I'm liking this game, too.

CrystalTears
10-07-2003, 07:06 PM
Caramia also means "my face" in Spanish. :D

It's a pretty name nonetheless.
