Thinking of making me a warrior. Not too sure about which race to go with, though. How much of an impact does a character's discipline bonus have on berserking? What about influence bonus and war cries? Do they make that much of a difference would you say?

Many thanks!

The bonuses only really help out when you are low ranks. For example Berserk is annoying to rank for the first 10 ranks or so. After you get some ranks trained it don't really make much difference.

I don't have any empirical evidence to back this up, but I would guess that it does continue to matter beyond those low ranks, especially with something like warcries. Presumably there's some sort of hidden roll happening on a warcry that your INF gets factored into. With holler, for example, there's still a pretty good chance of failure, and you only can manage 3-4 hollers before your throat gives out (unless you have griffin's voice). Or if you're using bellow (I rarely ever did on my warrior, though), I would imagine you'd have more success say as an elf than a dwarf. With berserk, the only time you'd really notice it would be trying to break stuns, etc. But Sile is right, the time you'll really feel it is when you're getting those first few ranks.

It's also worth noting that size makes a big difference with some guild skills and maneuvers, such a tackle, charge, and shield bash. If you roll up a halfling or something, you'll still suck at tackling even once you master.

Really appreciate the feedback guys- big help!

Despite their puny size, I'm leaning towards a halfling. If only that acrobats leap cman extended to warriors too. Would be nice to have the option to ambush heads.

The majority of my favorite characters are halflings, but I'd hesitate to roll up a halfling warrior. That negative STR bonus and negative size modifier for maneuvers will plague you forever. That being said, I've hunted with a few halfling warriors, it can work. It's just not ideal.

Although, a TWC build with a halfling is kind of cool. You eventually can swing two full-sized weapons because of their high AGI/DEX. Of course, you could also do that with an elf. UAC is also viable, but if you want to do a halfling UAC build, just roll up a monk.

I second going elf over halfling.

You don't get penalized for size, and your strength is still reasonable.

They get awesome maneuver defense, same as halfling. But you do suffer on TD which halflings excel at. If you are more concerned with TD and can accept less maneuver defense, go dwarf. They are the stamina kings, which plays in great for spamming berserk or offensive cmans, their biggest downfall is not having great agi/dex bonuses so you'll never really get -5 second unless you get a very expensive enhansive set.

Hm... what maneuvers do you guys use often as warriors that smaller races would suck at? Tackle being the most obvious I assume? I was trying to think of the biggest weakness of a warrior (TD??) which is why I was leaning towards halfling, but I forgot that a dwarf also gets a bonus too.

Tackle, charge, and shield bash come to mind. I'm sure size factors into more than that, but I know those for sure. If you can get outside spells, TD isn't all that big of a problem for warriors. The CvA from plate helps a lot.
