So you'll stop whining, all bids must be public bids. And no bids accepted from new users with few posts.

FYI - Alastir = SashaFierce/Inspire. He is a shady dealer...a known scammer on these boards.

For your reading pleasure where he bid on his own item, changed the auction rules, etc:

Ugh, already getting up there. Nice project piece. Can get it to 7x, takes a lot of mage ranks though. 20m is still a steal.

Guys - please be patient with Alastir since he is working SO hard right now (even though he is constantly in the game at all times). It will take days, maybe years to update the bids (or until he gets what he really wants of course).

I don't log out. Not all of us can be on 24/7 trolling lnet and wasting our lives making pointless posts on the PC.

I would say keep moving on instead of trolling on his post, either you want to buy it or not, seems to me the people who are bidding are educated enough about Alastir that they don't need you bogging down his thread with your shit. I don't see anyone giving you guys grief on the stuff you are offering on PC.

Your current bid is at 40m. Might want to update your post to reflect that since you have the time to respond to my post.

That or log onto an alt to drive up the price.

Hahah, typical Alastir, as of 10 minutes ago was still promoting the 'auction' on lnet. When there was no auction in reality.

Ended as many of us predicted, to a offer behind closed doors.

The only shocker is you closed it in less than a day instead of letting it sit for weeks.

There are bids above that indicate this was an auction. Someone made a buyout offer, I accepted.

Nothing prevented you from making a buyout offer if you wanted it.

You mean, your alt bought it out, when you realized it will get nowhere close to your 120m you wanted before.

Taking however you may feel about Inspire out of the equation for a second, random private message BOs are pretty common. I'd say private BOs happen way more than public ones.

Yeah, private BOs are legit. It's his staff, he can take whatever buyouts he wants. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he's already sent himself a private BO offer.

The problem is you have an extremely dishonest person running the auction. Nobody is guaranteed that any bid or BO is legit. It’s buyer beware with this guy.

The problem is you have an extremely dishonest person running the auction. Nobody is guaranteed that any bid or BO is legit. It’s buyer beware with this guy.

It comes down to transparency, and trustworthiness. If I was in Alastirs shoes, and having the community as a whole generally distrust him, I would be as transparent as possible, not accept any private offers, and be as forth coming as possible.

If you don't have a history of attracting attention, you can get away with not being as transparent, as many its fairly often the people who make the buy out are not revealed or even some times, the buyout offer isn't revealed, a lot of people don't want to be harassed for an item after they bought it.

While the person who bought this out, is a very new character, Fame around 1m when I checked, even though that is not that much on it's own, its extremely rare for someone to buy such a high end item for such a low character. Nothing is saying it wasn't someone's alt though. So this on it's own isn't that much to go on, but coupled with Op's reputation, it starts to paint a familiar picture.

Also, I do find it funny, for an item he was selling for the better part of a year, to suddenly get bought out, when the current bid was 1/3rd of his selling price.

Again, if it was most sellers on here, we wouldn't bat an eye at it, but because its Alastir it looks worse.

Things like this is why I always am honest and transparent, and try to resolve any personal disputes I have with people, I've been lucky and only had one transaction that blew up on me in over 25 years of playing, offered a full refund because of it, that wasn't enough at the time to the op, we never resolved it to his satisfaction. To me my name is everything, even on a semi anonymous game.

Alastir sent me a msg the other day on lnet after this, while I'm not going to get into the whole details of it, or post clips, as I feel it was a private convo, but he questioned why I got so involved in this essentially, I sent him a msg on here after I told him I didn't want to have a discussion on lnet. All in all, I don't wish Alastir any Ill will, nor were my comments personal attacks, but I just call things how I see it, whether I'm right or wrong. But in the end, as long as you don't rip people off, play the game how you like, sell things how you like, and let the cards fall where they do. This is just a game after all.
