The current wiki article has only Logic and Int as success factors. They really just took Aura out of it?

That changes the order of best racial bonuses quite a bit from how it used to be. I can't seem to access the saved posts link right now, were there reasons and discussion about the shakeup or not really?

Also is it known if Log/Int are weighted equally? I see a lot of people checking difficult items with halflings but if they're equal a burghal gnome would be the same.

The end result is supposedly no race having any advantage over other races.

Yes. Success factors: Level, Wizard Spell Ranks, AS, MIU, EMC, LOG, INT, Workshop and Familiar.

In the new formula, with 100 in each stat, burghal gnomes and halflings have a potential non-enchanced combined stat bonus (LOG + INT) of +65 which is +15 above the standard combined bonus of +50. A half krolvin's potential non-enchanced bonus is only +40. The result is that a burghal gnome or halfling has a +25 enchant bonus advantage vs a half krolvin. Previously, a burghal gnome had a +30 advantage vs a half krol or giantman.

Enchant Formula Racial Stat Bonus Table (new vs old).

RACE|LOG + INT (new)|LOG + INT + AUR (old)|NET +/-
Burghal Gnome|+15|+20|-5
Halfling|+15|+10|+5
Aelotoi|+10|+10|0
Human|+10|+10|0
Dark Elf|+5|+15|-10
Dwarf|+5|-5|+10
Erithian|+5|+5|0
Forest Gnome|+5|+5|0
Elf|0|+5|-5
Half elf|0|0|0
Sylvankind|0|+5|-5
Giantman|-5|-10|+5
Half Krolvin|-10|-10|0

The greatest beneficiaries are dwarves (+10). Biggest losers are dark elves (-10). Dark elves previously had a +20 advantage vs dwarves. With the removal of AURA as a factor they are now equal. Although burghal gnomes lost 5 points they are still tied with halflings (+15) at the top of the list.

Also is it known if Log/Int are weighted equally? I see a lot of people checking difficult items with halflings but if they're equal a burghal gnome would be the same

Yes. LOG bonus and INT bonus are weighted equally (1 pt. per bonus)

Thanks for the table.

I factored in enchant stats to race selection a long time ago and my guys all got screwed at least a little and some a lot.

Going back to what Methais said I wonder how much it really matters though. Lets say you get enchant enhancives and are pushing it all to the max anyway, will there really be that many items that halflings can hit that others can't?

With the huge drop in ceiling and the increase in penalties , yeah it's a pretty big effect now
