I cannot help but wonder if strategically it was a poor move by the Democrats since the Republicans get to set the rules for the trial and call whomever they choose to, ie. Hunter Biden, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, Joe Biden, and god knows whoever else. Just like the dog and pony show in the House, it could be a similar event in the Senate.

Wouldn't they technically have 3 votes to spare since Pence can be the tie breaking vote in the case of a tie? Sure why not? Apparently senators currently running for president are going to get to vote on whether to remove Trump or not. I think I would rather the vice president deciding on whether or not he's called to testify as opposed to senators being able to vote on if they want to remove their only competition in the presidential race.
