After trying to watch a DVD in my PS2, it now freezes every 5 fucking seconds. Or less.

Anyone have information that can help?

Sony's website is pretty lame about it, I sent them an e-mail, they replied, and what they told me to do didnt do a damn thing.

I plan on calling them, but I'd like to hear from other people if they've had similar problems.

If not, I live on the 2nd story...and I have a window.... :bye:

Seems to happen to lots of people. Don't watch DVDs on them. Screws up the lense, apparently.

There's some information here, Kuyuk, about cleaning your PS2 and updating the drivers. There's also an incompatibility list.

The easiest solution is to go buy a DVD player for $40.

It's not worth all the heartache to try and fix a fucked up PS2.

What you're experiencing is probably a Disk Read Error problem. The DVD thing is one of the early symptoms.

I posted this link in the other thread but I don't think anyone took it seriously for some reason or another.

If you have a DRE with your PS2. You can call them up, ship it to them and have it repaired for free. All you pay is the shipping cost to Sony.

My lil bro's PS2 used to suck ass at playing DVDs. Later it stopped playing certain types of PS games. He found the info for the free-fix and I got it done. Now it plays everything again.
