Easy answer: Cause he has items.

Long answers: Cause fresh cap wiz can enchant at maxed 900. It's doable. They can enchant at 1x 900 too.
But it'd be tedious and hard with all the changes to 925. You are forced to make decisions.

This mage make you decides LESS heartbreaking stuff AND can do ANOTHER PROFESSION as well.

What?

Max him with picking and disarm, 76 ranks in 400 and VOILA, you get an enchanter AND a picker for like 95% of boxes. And with 535, this mage will pick like a machine.

You want to farm? 1X in survival, first aid and trade is ALSO possible. VOILA! Bang, an enchanter, a picker and a farmer.

You want him to be a mutant 900er? 3X in 900? But with a fresh capped, you'll die a lot!
OH, but with this mage, you can 1x in Brawl, 1x in shield get some CM and VOILA, you can hunt better and stop dying like fresh capped wiz you'd buy.

This mage will make your gemstone experience like the 1% plays

Forgive the lack of clarity. I meant that all three slots are unlocked. It is not fully upgraded, though it has been upgraded quite a ways. I'll edit the original post to clear that up.

Thank you for the supportive post and the many ideas on how he could be changed to suit different playstyles! Fortunately, with wizards getting a fixskills reset on the 1st, buyers will be able to change him in whatever way they like at that time.

I'd also point out that he has about twice as much experience as those $800 freshly capped wizards, generally speaking. Twice the character, another good reason to buy. :)

Why would you sacrifice DS (AGI) or Spirit TD (WIS) for DIS?

The diminishing returns on AGI for SMRv2, from testing, showed something like +40 agi enhancives gives like a +2 bonus to the roll, a -2 on AGI is almost nothing esp since sylvans already get +5 bonus. A loss of 9 DISC seems like quite a bit of a tradeoff comparatively.

Actually, I started higher than where it is now, and I gratefully received a lot of support at that time. I've also offered sales lower than where he is now, and I'm content to wait. A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He sells precisely when he means to!

You can read Policy 20 if you want the whole spiel on what it does. Basically, though, someone in your household annoyed a GM or something to that effect. If you happen to share a home with that person and log in from the same location? You've got it, too, even if you're personally innocent. You can't become a mentor/Host/GM/Great House officer/leader in another GM-operated group. It's permanent, can never be removed once assigned.

GemStone IV Player Policy: High Maintenance Guests

In certain situations, the overall pattern of behavior on an account or a set of linked accounts may be determined to be disruptive or abusive, even if not one single act clearly violates any specific policy.

Simutronics reserves the right to determine what patterns of behavior are defined as "high-maintenance" or "disruptive" and may take action against the account(s). High maintenance customers (HMC) will be consulted on a case-by-case scenario.

High maintenance customers (HMC) can become locked out for the following activities:
* Continued disruptive behavior in game, on the forums, or on the wiki.
* Any in-game violation of policy or forum violation beyond a notification.
* High volume of assists, reports, and emails.

HMC status may also hinder the ability of getting timely assistance and responses from both onsite and offsite staff. HMC cannot hold a position of leadership such as an officer in an MHO, CHE, or other GM maintained group. They cannot be mentors, GameHosts, GameMaster, or any form of moderator.

Once a player is flagged as HMC, it is a permanent decision on all linked accounts, even if the account transfers hands.

I certainly hope that it does. This hit my mom's account, too. She's been playing GS with me since I was a kid, and now she helps me every day due to physical disability. She's had multiple heart attacks, herself. Getting the mark simply due to her location of play has taken opportunities from her. Mom still wants to play GS even though she's upset, so I hold out hope for a sale so that I can get her an item I know would cheer her up. This character sale wouldn't get me enough at its newly reduced price, but it's a start.

I wasn't clear on the policy language regarding *character* transfers either, but as of this moment, the policy review is no longer clear as it was when I started selling the character. I didn't want to take the risk of assuming and end up messing up someone elses' account by not being upfront about it. If a buyer doesn't care about what the policy takes away (and I know many wouldn't) then they're still getting one heck of a great character. As said above, I'd like to take these funds and somehow find more to get my mom an item that'd cheer her up. She got hit by this, as well.

EDIT: Dropping it down to $700. Happy Thanksgiving and Black Friday and all that. This is as low as it'll ever go, and less than its value even with the new HMC policy review in my opinion, so don't wait on any future discounts. :)

I'm not clear if the same is true of just characters (my sale is a character transfer, not account) but it may be.

Having said that, again, they've been true to their assurance that our clean records going back decades were indeed clean and we wouldn't be mistreated. I still think it's BS, particularly in our situation where getting it was very unavoidable, but they just won't change it. I've gone from making a query about it to making pleas and offering proof to back up the reasoning. Even my account credentials and payment method are different. Doesn't matter. Once you're HMC, you're HMC.

It is not, however, proving to be the utter disaster area that was alleged by the earlier poster.

As it stands we have one new account, who had some high profile vouchers, trying to sell a character with some red flags. While it dont all add up, the sale seems to be pretty transparent.

I rarely read PC let alone post. I did feel this topic required me to a make an account to clarify what this person has done to deserve HMC status.

4. Asked to borrow items then refused to give them back to the lenders

10. It is absolutely, 100%, unequivocally untrue that I took donations or loans of items and then tried to sell them. Everything I was ever loaned, every single item, was returned to its owner or to a trusted courier before I sold off my own belongings and closed my account. This is a frequent lie Josh likes to tell, stemming from my delay in returning a suit of armor to one player. Just as I left, I returned the last items I still had - a katana sash, a permablessed bastard sword, and one other item - to their respective owners, Jaired and Kiel. That was the last of what I had from other players.

Never did I try to sell any of it. Did I ask if they considered me the owner? Yes. Did I then ask permission to sell an item if they did? Yes. Did I try to sell the item when they said no? I did not, I returned the item.

11. The bullying is not something I blame, it's a fact. GMs have voiced that they've taken screenshots of it happening on the official Discord. GMs saw that I was compensated for a year of it with a particularly abusive October, and Wyrom advised me that moving to Prime might be a good idea because Josh was never going to let up on Platinum. I sold everything and left the instance.

I actually tried to sell it back to the owner at buying price before HMC ever became a thing in our lives, but they were unable to purchase it back because they'd committed the money to home projects. They can verify this or not if they choose. It was a fortunate coincidence that the ebow I wanted to help my mother purchase was about that value, so I went for selling it at the original owner's considered price. Eventually, I lowered it to $1400 and kept it there. It was halved when HMC came around, but only after I was encouraged to keep trying to sell by the original owner and others, being honest about what had happened. I'd closed the sale prior to their encouragement.

As a result, my read on the disability angle is that he's legitimately disabled and is telling the truth. From my interactions with him, I believe he simply over-invests emotionally in Gemstone and makes mistakes in interpersonal relationships as a result of anxiety over it.

Chronology from my pov:

1) He tried to buy a wiz on PRIME ( and I was listening to offers) and told many of us the story why (he had problems in plat and wanted to leave cause reason). As many, I heard the same rhetoric: disable, poor, he needs help and is trying to make his life better with gs. I wanted more money, he offered a fix amount and per months cash. He told me over and over his 500$ per month. I couldn't accept money if he was that poor. I said no deal. Ok so far, it's a bit weird but it happens. Key point: he wanted to LEAVE Plat, it was toxic for him and wanted to stop, completely, plat interactions.

2) He got nuad'S character. A couple of time after, he PMed ingame and told me he wished he bought MY character. I didn't ask why but he gave reasons anyway: HMC and a bunch of stuff I didn't pay attention. Until then I NEVER THOUGHT THE GUY WAS THE SAME AS THE OP OF THIS THREAD. For me, it was 2 different persons.

3) He pmed me in game to sell his services, meaning he'd take my character and play em while I pay him. He tried to sell me a high end bow cause he wanted to buy his mom stuff in plat. I told him no 6 times. He threw the disabling and poor status. I gave him advice to make money. HE REFUSED THEM. FISHY RED FLAG ALERT. I told him how to increase his revenue, gave him pointers, how to do it. HE KEPT SAYING HE CAN'T CAUSE HE'S DISABLED! RED FLAG ALERT!

Which I find pretty hard to believe, since that's not how getting hit with HMC works and has been confirmed by Simu.

I'm not going to bother responding to all of this at length. I needlessly stressed myself out doing so last night (once again addressing accusations I have addressed time and again prior, only to have them ignored) and won't be viewing the thread further after this post. My mom will also not be dragged into this again. Her accounts are cancelled, we are gone. A few points to address:

1. I apologize to Richaard for misspelling his name, as I also did via PMs. We had very little contact outside of the game (though I did find our RP within game fun and he seemed pleasant). I only vaguely recalled the name from when he messaged my mom's Discord. So, I officially apologize for calling him Ricaard and provide him with two letters H to repay the debt. Richaard, it was nice knowing you and I do appreciate the support I know you gave.

2. Sile, case of mistaken identity. Sorry about that. I'm glad we were able to talk it out in PMs and appreciate that you accepted my apology. Your advice, also appreciated. Glad to have known you.

3. BriarFox, thank you for having been a genuinely good and kind friend for many years. I appreciate your visiting the thread to say what you did and to verify that my health status is genuine. Enjoy the shop.

4. The katana referenced was given to me as part of the compensation for mistreatment noted by staff. When I began liquidating my account, it naturally became a consideration as to whether or not that katana could/should be sold. I would not do so without Wyrom's go-ahead. So, I brought it up and only then did I learn that an anonymous player (still anonymous to me) had donated the katana and a blink token, and Wyrom had done the alter. After I asked him whether it could be sold, he said he'd look into it and speak with the person. I inquired a few times about an answer as billing time grew closer and I wanted to downgrade my account, which annoyed him and concluded in his taking back the katana. That's the story there. I regret that it happened, as up until then, Wyrom and I had actually maintained a great relationship and I had his permission to DM him to chat whenever I wanted to. A good friend.

That's about it. Thanks all. The narrative is clearly going to be driven toward scandal here, no matter what else I say, so I'm out of it and the game (save for the last few days I have subbed - might play a little during those). If there's anything else needed, feel free to PM.

I was legitimately trying to give this person a 15th chance. I told them to stop scamming, lay low, try to regain people's trust. Then I happened upon this thread....

He takes no ownership for his actions causing the HMC, he even insinuates it was someone else in his household that caused it. He also continues the lie of "his mother" playing the other account.

During the last DR he came into platchat begging for a GoA, claiming Chris from billing told him to ask the community for it. This is when I banned him from platchat. After a few days of drama in the official discord, basically him crying to GMs and anyone that would listen, things died down.

A week after this happened, he claimed he was unsubbing. A week after that he re-subbed and begged me to let him back in platchat, which i did. Once invited back into platchat he mass DM'd everyone claiming he was innocent and that I had banned him because I hated him. He then said he was going to start his own platchat (minus the strippers and blackjack). Once people informed me of his mass harassment DMs, I re-banned him. Once again, he claimed he was unsubbing from plat.

Fast forward to EG, he resubs and has a pretty fancy, new, discord made. It's obvious he didn't create this discord because it was pretty well automated and Scammy Sammy lacks the cognitive capabilities to do that himself. He has this discord for a week? maybe 2? before he deletes it. I had originally assumed he shut it down because it had failed but someone told me that someone called him out on his behavior, he kicked them, then another person called him out on kicking the person that called him out. Anyway, after this drama he claims he's leaving plat for prime! (but he waits 2 weeks until EG is over)

(ignoring the drama of him crying to GMs about getting nothing good from DSD after dropping 500 bucks)

He wins Ghoul, doesn't like the toy prize and proceeds to DM a bunch of GMs to complain. He then GIVES the toy to someone in plat, for free, and a week later demands that person give him a DSD license for the toy.

He tries to sell his entire account, Tamriel_Mom buys all his items for 200 bucks. He tries to back out of the sale because it's "too little " for all his "good stuff". I advise him not to do that since it'll further his bad reputation so he actually completes the sale. He informed Tamriel mom "I'd be lying if I said I'll never play through mom's account, so... Starting over at rock bottom again with nothing, level zero, so on, hundreds spent now flying out the window. Hopefully, though, she'll be better accepted and treated well by the community."

A week after that sale and the guise of his mom playing he starts DMing Tamriel Mom and crying about his sold stuff then begging for the stuff back.

I don't know the point of this rant but I'm done being nice to this fuckstick. I suggest everyone avoid this toxic person simply because they will never stop.
