Heading there tomorrow morning for around 9 days. Anything special to do other then the really popular stuff?
I'm gonna be staying at these chicks' dorm rooms at Sarah Lawrence, in Bronxville or something. I only know one of em, but being the only male in a dorm room full of asian girls is going to make me happy.

One thing I found fun for a break is hitting Jekyll and Hyde's Pub in the Village. Especially if you like beer, considering they have like 150 on tap or something insane like that.

Do you know what really, really really, sucks?
I'm only 19.

I always loved going to the Brooklyn Promenade. Even though it meant going to Brooklyn it's a very cool place and the view of southern Manhattan will knock your socks off.
The Cloisters is worth a trip, too. Rent some rollerblades (or ice skates if its all snowy there) and hit Central Park. VERY cool.
Take the subway downtown and stroll Greenwich Village. Lots of cool places to grab snacks and the stores are really fun to explore, even for guys.
For an out of the way adventure take the number 7 train to Shea Stadium and explore Flushing Meadow Park. While there, be sure to check out the Queens Museum (the diorama of NYC is incredible) and, of course, the Queens Zoo. Queens Zoo is home to such celebrities as Flushing Meadow Phil and Corona Kate the weather predicting prairie dogs and Otis, the Central Park coyote.

I hear muggings are a good time. Participate in one of those.

Hint: If you choose this activiity, it is much more fun to play the role of mugger, as opposed to muggee.

Thanks all.
By the way, I'd like to experience a real New York mugging.

If you're 19, try Barcode. I think you can at least get in to the arcade/pool hall, and probably get someone to get you some beers.
Well, you are only 19, so here is the underage plan.
Hit the Metropolitan Museum of art. You just missed Cristo’s Gates, but Central Park is pretty awesome anyway. Strawberry Fields and the Great Lawn.
Empire State Building is an absolute must. If you dig shopping, Macy’s is pretty close.
For the nightlife, make sure to swing through Times Square at night, just to see it, but head to the East Villiage for clubs, bands and DJs.
There's a couple hookah bars that are really fun to go to. Dunno if you're into that stuff though.

WTF, you'll be the only cat in a dorm room full of asian chicks.
The only sight seeing I'd get done would be on the plane.

What about Azn chix?
I was trying to think back to when I was 19 and what I did in NYC on the weekends. But I came to the conclusion that what I did then and what I do now are pretty much the same.
I guess if your into cultural stuff theres a ton of museums to goto (MOMA, Natural History, etc.)
If your into comedy you can always goto like a laugh factory, carolines, etc.
If you like music theres about 500,000 different bars/clubs/venues you can goto.
If you like plays theres a ton of off broadways you can probably get tickets for.
Theres a few zoos you can goto, including the central park zoo.
And of course theres tons of awesome places to eat.

If you want to eat, come to Louisiana.
Sou's sexy as hell, so Bob's dead wrong. Not surprising, after you look at this:

That place has been closed for a while. Last time I passed by there was a few of months ago. Did it re-open?

Just came back yesterday and holy crap am I burnt out. New York was fun..but I won't go back there for awhile. It kinda makes me appreciate Hawaii more, heh.
But yea, we did the usual sightseeing, went to the Conan O'Brien Show, comedy show, hookah bar, countless restaurants, getting wasted every night, and uh, "extraneous" activites. I'll let you figure that one out.
Too lazy to post pictures but uh, here's the link to my Xanga blog.

eh I'd do a xanga but I don't have a camera and blogs without pix suck.
I'm going to estimate the trip only cost you what ... $2000 since you saved on lodging!

Actually, the whole trip only cost me 1200..including souvenirs, food, train, subway, and taxi costs. I even shopped a little.

I have a picture of my wife and myself on the "Top of the World" which was the top of the World Trade Center.
The date on the back was 9-11-00 9:15AM
Creeped us out when we were going through the book a year ago.
