St. Patrick's Day

So do you celebrate it? Are you Irish and it's a big deal or do you pretend you are Irish and enjoy the green beer?

My husband is 100% Irish and so it's a big day for him. Plus he's from the NY/NJ area where it's a big deal. We'll be going out for corned beef/cabbage and some green beer.

I'm far from Irish but I'll definitly be celebrating it in NYC. Then again I already saw 20,000 kiss me I'm Irish shirts when I went out to the city on saturday.

In college, we used to go to this DIVE Irish pub and spend the entire day drinking. Good times.

Now.. I'll spend it at home with no green beer or green puke near me.

I think I'm part Irish but it's so far down in my genetic line I don't really count it. Where I live it used to be a major mining town until the mid 50's, and a lot of the people who worked those mines were Irish immigrants. Even if you're not Irish or legal to drink you're still Irish and can get a beer in a lot of the bars. With the crowds a lot of the bartenders don't pay attention.

St Patty's day is huge here, thousands of people walking around uptown getting drunk. I've talked to people who come from all over just to party here.

For the last two years, this will be my third I'll be working which is both good and bad. It's good since I won't be out getting shit drunk and bad because my work place is smack in the middle of the uptown bar crawl. I'll be listening to drunks until the bars close and depending on the weather, maybe later.

St. Patricks day??? We celebrate Green Beer Day down at Miami of Ohio... was last thursday... I was drunk from 8pm wednesday until i passed out around 1am friday morning... also were a couple of times i passed out between those times... That is by far the greatest holiday ever! It's 5:30am... if you're not wasted, your day is! And i'll be downtown Chicago for St Patties day.

I went to OU - the best Halloween party ever. I remember some serious serious drunken times. We ised to also go to some bar that had quad drinks. :shivers:

I'm Irish, but I'm sure I'd celebrate the same way no matter what. I generally go out to the bar, or to a party. However, next St. Patricks day I'm going to Ireland, so that should be fun.
