So I have heard a couple schools of thought on yearly fixskill usage before fixstat, and I am thinking they may overlap so i am posting my understanding in case I am missing it. all reference to fixskills (fSKILL) is implying the yearly fixskill.

Basically, everything works?

if I have no fSKILL, the fSTAT will replace it
If I have a fSKILL I can use it to set all skills to 0 before fixstating (not sure why this is needed?)
If I set all skills to 0 and put them into migration then do a fSTAT it will instant migrate all those skills to 0 anyway.

So...doesn't everything come out the same as long as I set skills prior to using the fSTAT and adjusting stats?
With or without a starting fSKILL, and whether or not I use one prior to the fixstat, I will end up with reset stats, skills, and 1 yearly fixskill in the "bank" right?

I will likely go the fSKILL first, fSTAT second, regain fSKILL, since that most often recommended path with pretty much no chance of loss, I'm mainly curious if its neccesary, or if fSTAT=(fSKILL + fSTAT + Banked fSKILL). One person was adamant that they were 99% sure I didn't have to use a fixskill first (which would matter more if I didn't a fSKILL) and now my brain is turning.

A fixstat potion awards you a fixskills (that doesn't stack). If you have a fixskills, use it. I set everything to 0 before fixstat, especially cman, shield, and armor and wait for the skills to migrate to 0 before regaining them.

But say I don't have a fixskill, I set everything to migrate toward zero, then pop a fixstat. Won't that also migrate everything to 0 for me?

Fixstat will change your tps, and if you don't have the tps, will lower skills. You can direct it by setting the skills you don't mind losing to a lower rank, but it won't migrate more than what your tp difference is.

Is there still a stat calculator out there? I *think* there used to be on on Tsoran's site???

There's several. Very bottom of the page has links.

https://gswiki.play.net/Statistic

Nitefallz is the old school one everyone tends to reference, note that it is INCORRECT for MONKS. Everything else should be fine (pretty sure it has some old pre-release data for their growth rates, from before they changed to squares or something)

My favorite is this one: https://gs4chart.cfapps.io/ which is linked at the bottom on the stat page, and feels easy to use.

Just remember though, using the calc above (which is the best calc by the way) isn't smart enough to take into account the statistic caps you're allowed to have. So be mindful of how many over 70, etc. you can have while using it or you'll come up short at the inn.
