Why the fuck are you calling me if you already think you are smarter than me and won't listen to a damn thing I say?

Honestly, people who call tech support are dumb, the dude's first two questions were totally appropriate.

just be nice to them and help them, the sooner you get them off the phone, the sooner you can make fun of them with your co-workers

90% of my experiences using tech support led to me figuring out what was wrong before the tech did. I know they ask 'leading' questions, but the solutions they offered had nothing to do with the problem, in the end.

I think that's one of their purposes

There is a reason that some tech agents don't seem to know what you're talking about. Why the hell are you calling the bank when you're having trouble with your Quicken software?

Why are you calling Simu when you get The page cannot be displayed ever since you installed that Norton Firewall?

Damn right I'll be quick to pass the buck. I'm not gonna spend 10 minutes on the phone with you when I'm supposed to average a little more than 3.

Almost makes me glad that I don't work in general tech support for a company like dell, where anything could be wrong...

Now imagine waiting on a 5 minute hold just for the rep to tell you there isn't anything he can do for you. Shit, I won't feel bad, you called the wrong place.

So when you're sitting there with your head in your hands cursing the bank for making you wait 5-10 minutes to get the help you need, realize you were the dumb one for calling the wrong people.

Damn right I'm cynicial.
