Made my first visit to sin city this week. Enjoyed the accomodations of the Bellagio and walked out with about 400 bucks more than I did when I walked in due to some light gambling on the "let it ride' tables. This was a business trip so the room was covered by my company as well as meals and so forth.

Partied with some co-workers at Studio 54 in the MGM then we hit Tabu just to see what it was like inside. 54 totally rocked with the dancers on the swings... HAWT!!!

Gambled at Ceasars and MGM, and the Venitian. By far the Bellagio netted me the most money. Next trip I'm going to sit in on a ring-game of no limit holdem, they had like 10 tables or so set up with 200$ buy-in, when I have more time.

My only disappointment is that I got so bombed drinking vodka and red bull last night that I didnt get to meet up with some Gemstone friends like I initially planned.

All in all I had a blast in Vegas and fully intend on capitalizing on more business opportunities in that area in the future.

Edited to add that I forgot to mention that we had an outstanding dinner at MIX on the 64th floor of the Mandolay Bay Resort, we had a 6 course meal served on the dais where all the blown glass bubbles are...

All in all my Vegas trip rocked.

Ganalon, while I'm sure you had a great time, you do understand that this is not exactly what was expected from a Vegas appreciation post, right?

Man. My trip to Vegas was awesome. I went to the sapphire which is like mind blowingly awesome. 500+ strippers on duty and not a single one ugly and if you ask the right way you get a military discount on lap dances. woot

When men go to Vegas, away from the women that love them they should behave like proper gentlemen and not look at boobies.

That is all.

WTF??? ARE YOU AUDITIONING TO BE A MODERATOR???!?!?!

I was showing my appreciation for LV and the good time I had while there on business. I only regret not hooking up with the Gemstone folks I was intending to catch up with.

Dont be a h8ter, be an appreci8tor.

I don't see how me saying, in a nice way, that your Vegas story is weak has anything to do with me acting like a moderator.

RangerD's story is a Vegas story.

Me getting one of the girls from the Spearamint Rhino back to the Bellagio to play craps until 5:00 in the morning is the beginning part of a very good Vegas story.

I'm sure there are some other stories out there. REAL stories.

If we are going to appreciate Vegas, let us appreciate it for what it is...

But, Longshot...Las Vegas is different things to different people. There's so much to it that casual visitors never see. :)

As mine undoubtedly won't meet Longshots standards, I still had a lot of fun.

We did more of the hiking and stuff. Going to ghost towns and checking out some of the historical things there. I found it to be really fascinating.

Anyways, as for gambling and such.. I don't like to. However, I did check out a bunch of different places and have drinks and all that.

Boring compared to the other posts, but it was nice to relax.

P.S. Don't ever live there. Great place to visit, but yeah.. no living there.

You were right. Your story sucked

Yeah, that was awful.

Vegas!! Come for the hiking!!!

 (This is supposed to be someone yawning... I was going to do the sleeping person, but he looked far too peaceful and happy. Someone hearing your story should be frustrated and irritated that someone spent good money to go to Vegas for all the wrong reasons. They should also be bored, so I chose the yawn.)

I lived there. So I didn't spend "good money" to do it.

I hear the bellagio has an impressive art collection.

I noticed alot of vases, new flower arrangements daily, and they also changed the decor around in the front foyer daily as well. Additionally they were completely re-doing the conservatory area from a winter decor to a spring involving huge butterfly mobiles combined with arcing fountians. I'm not a huge art afficiando but I did notice alot of people taking pictures of different pieces throughout the grounds. There were also weddings daily in the wedding chappel. The pools and the surrounding patios and water fountians were nothing short of spectacular. I can only imagine the 'scenery' poolside when the weather really starts warming up.

I was disappointed that they charged daily for you to use the workout facilities but I can understand their reasoning in that it makes it more 'exclusive' considering the ameanities in the locker room. Either way everything there was slanted to earn/produce revenue - which I can understand considering how much money has been invested. The drinks on the casino floor were free though!!!! - go figure

I had a corner room on the 26th floor of bellagio tower so I had 3 windows, 2 in the bedroom area and one over the jacuzzi in the huge double sink bathroom. I was able to look out and see the Rio Casino from one side and the MGM Grand from the other. Having a corner room also meant that I had 147 steps from the elevator foyer to my door. I totally grooved on the electric curtains though, I'd love to have that for my home... just hit a button and "open sesame!".

We entertained clients from Monday through Wednesday and then had internal marketing meetings through Friday. During the first part of the conference I ran into my old boss... seeing him get a feel for the company I'm with now, the size of the cleint base, and how happy I am now compared to the one he is still part of was priceless. Thats like running into an old girlfriend with a 'newer improved model' hanging on your arm.

That is all. That rule is usually broken the second you step off the plane.

Guilty of this myself.

I love living in Vegas. My career would not be as completely fabulous as it is anywhere else:)

If that story was awful, then my stay at the Venetian over Valentine's day just so we could go to Seigfried and Roy's secret petting zoo to spend the day with dolphins would be worse.

Since we were there, I surprised her with a morning at the Canyon Ranch Spa then a afternoon wedding on a gondola for her Valentine's day gift

My last trip to Vegas sucked ass because I lost all my gambling money.

Now.. 2 years ago.. it was the fucking BOMB. We played roulette during the Superbowl where I ended up watching the game and winning $600. Plus I laid a big bet for Buccaneers to win. From there, I won at craps, 3 card poker and could not lose.
