A little more seriously though; they're not going to price anyone out of the 'base' mount. It'll be comparatively cheap, maybe even free (as every first hit should be), but there will be a ton of unlocking you can do for it. Feature lines, armor, scripts, high end one-of-a-kind creatures, maybe enhancives... everything that's been shat out at Duskruin and the various other pay festivals you're going to see associated with a mount.

Exactly. Horses will take a secondary road only available to them. For that, you need to unlock it 5 times (rachi costs of $$$) and horses need to eat special food to keep up (rachi maintenance of $$)

That's the price for the crappy, horribly named (e.g. - "compact horse") low tier horses. For ONLY $300-$400 you could have a fantabulously named horse (e.g. NIGHTMARE!).

Then on top of that it's another $600-$800 for fast travel and ONLY another $1,200-$1,600 for your own stable.

It's the best deal ever.
