I used to be an avid RPer. It took me a long time to understand the concept. A friend of mine (George) broke it down really well.

There are masks and puppets.

Masks are people who put themselves into the game in a guise of themselves.

Puppets are people who are able to distance themselves and play with the strings.

For myself, I was a mask in the beginning and eventually (years) learned the puppet. Those were some hard-knock years, let me tell you.

But now? I say fuck em both and be you. I can’t be bothered thinking up another person’s history/traits/story anymore. Because MY OWN story is infinitely better.

Well I doubt that after 10 years of playing without a single warning I would be banned since they enforce unconsensual CvC policy so well. It's obvious that most people don't give a shit about RP anymore in GS (including Simu), but what I don't understand is why it's so fucking hard for people to just speak normal. They don't have to make themselves sound like they're a character in a King Arthur book, but god damn just speak NORMAL at least.

The saddest part is that people like Dessedemona are so stupid that they really have no idea what they're doing, despite the fact that people tell them over and over and over they're being an annoying OOC jackass and to at least make an attempt to act normal. Dess actually believes she's not OOC.

Call it Warclaidhm syndrome.. even though Dess has been around a lot longer than him and isn't some 14 year old kid, so I really don't have a clue what her excuse is other than stupidity.

She's a nice person out of the game, but annoying as fuck in-game.

Last time I interacted with Desse IG, she decided to test 1016 (song of rage) on me on the Dais. She casts at me, and it induces RT, so I whisper to her that it is annoying, and unconsented. She says out loud, back, "There's no RT involved at all.".. she just couldn't get the hint that I didn't wanna be casted at in the first place, regardless of the spell. So I informed her she was gonna die, she says something like "I'm twice your level, kid, so don't bother trying".

Well, I killed her. And it was very fulfilling.

Maybe so, but since Simu doesn't care to enforce their OOC policy, and 99% of the people playing don't care about RP anymore, I don't really see anything wrong with it. A broadsword to the skull would probably get the message across more effectively than whispering "Can you stop being OOC please?", especially since most of the OOC people will tell you to eat shit if you try being nice about it.

Other than ignoring them (which does nothing to fix the problem and makes them think it's ok to act like a retard), killing them seems to be the only option left. At worst, you'll feel better. At best, they'll get the message.
