A few weeks ago I broke down and had digital cable added to my cable modem service.
With my work schedule and hobbies, television is usually the last thing on the list.
The reason I wanted the digital service was to increase my chances of finding something interesting to watch on those off days when I still couldn't sleep "normal people" hours.
Well I've just watched 3 solid hours of Anime on TechTV, some historical biographies and such on like 8 different stations.... cable finally got good!
I hope I don't run out of stuff to entertain me... I would hate to break down again and justify 50 more bucks a month and get the whole package!

I havent really watched TV for a year or so. I watch a couple of shows, and can get interested in a movie now and then, but I've weaned away from it mostly.

I have digital cable..the reason we got it is because Comcast was running some promotional special where the installation fees for our cable modem waived and a few months of free internet service. It's not that bad, but it isn't that great, either. We're kinda used to it now...and Zan doesn't want to lose the sports channels so we keep it pretty much for those two reasons...heh.

TV? What? I get only a few basic air stations, and I never even turn on my TV. Actually, right now its not even plugged in. I constantly have my stereo running though. The only entertainment I have at all is this computer, which is perfectly fine with me. I have books and stuff, but I've read them all. I'm such a bachelor.
My TV watching has dropped dramatically over the past seven years. Before that my girlfriend and I had a regular schedule of shows to watch in prime time during the week. Seven years later, girlfriend gone, the only shows I watch with regularity are the HBO series. Sopranos, Sex and the City, The Wire and whatever else they might throw in.
I watch the network news around 6 because thats usually when I'm eating dinner. And I hate to admit that the last few months of last year I watched Blind Date, Extreme Dating, Fifth Wheel and Shipmates almost every night.
When I need a break from the computer, around once or twice a week, I'll usually watch a movie, Discovery Channel, TLC, or something along those lines.
Discovery had a great show on tigers this week. This guy who has trained them since birth built this reserve he intends to release them into. So, he's had to train them to be more wild. In order to maintain his dominance, he would have to take away their kills! 350 pounds of tiger with a fresh kill in its mouth. And he did it!
There was one scene where one of the tigers took down a gizelle and had its jaws around its neck, I mean, you watched the cat takle this thing, put on the death grip, then the dude just steps into camera view, the gizelle isn't even dead yet, then kneels down to point out how the tiger's clamp wasn't in the best position to suffocate. It was crazy! This guy is nuts.

I don't know what I'd do without Alias, 24, and the West Wing.
Not to mention Conan O'Brian and Leno.

The new show on ESPN playmakers has been good so far. Alos without Digital cable I wouldn't have access to all the fox sports, NHL center ice and college game day packages.
The Simpsons, NFL, FoxNews, Discovery, and Conan O'Brian are pretty much the only shows I watch.

Mostly i just watch my sports on tv (baseball, football). I sometimes will watch shows but not on any regular basis. I only have 80 channels or so though so if i had more choice id probably watch more. But baseball is on a lot! When they arnt televised for a day i get annoyed.

I got a cable descrambler. I get all basic cable, all the movie channels (no digital ones though), and PPV. That's pretty much all I need......
I get all the channels. Except I only have cable on one TV. I would never see my daughter otherwise.
I like the variety. I always think about cutting back on the channels, but I know I'll miss them when I do. So, as long as it's no strain on my pocketbook, I keep them all.
Watch History Channels, National Geographic, Comedy Central, BBC. Also love the films on the Sundance and IFC channels. Off the wall artsy films. I also will watch big screen hits when they hit one of my movie channels. The only ones I insist on seeing in the theatre are the LOTR films. I used to be addicted to watching cooking shows but there are so many now I had to stop!

P.S. Unless it's a movie, I usually record what I want to watch so I can fast forward through all the commercials.

I do not care for television. Once in awhile there might be something on that will interest me, but for the most part I do not watch it.

Yeah! TLC, History and Discovery channel rule.
I saw that show too. That was something else. I also was just waiting for that tiger to just take a chunk out of the trainer when he went to take the freshly killed animal away.
Pretty darned amazing and also mase me wish I had a job one tenth as cool.
Who else peed their pants during Sunday night's Conan O'Brian special? It was a riot!

I didn't pee my pants, but it was damn funny.
I totally forgot about it due to Vikings VS. Bears. Is there going to be a replay?

You might be able to get it from Kazaa or something.
