Keep getting booted every 5 minutes or so...annoying to say the least. This is the error I keep getting:
error: server_thread: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine. @ io_fillbuf - fd:4
Then poof.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Could be a software firewall polling connections every few minutes and shutting the pipe down thinking it's a trojan or something. It's an I/O connection on a strange port. Try turning off any antivirus you have going and see if it still happens.

I'll give it a try, thanks. Weird how it just started happening out of the blue.

it does that to me too. I MA and sometimes, an account crash while the other doesn't.
My hypothese: some packets are lost and ruby doesn't like it at all. Tune down your other bandiwidth hungry connexions and reboot your modem once in a while.
(ex. It happens a lot more when I go to Twitch).

That sounds like you're on wireless. If that's the case just....stop...playing games...on wireless.

Sounds to me like an established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.

I concur.
Seriously though, log on the regular way, without lich through the website and chill on there for like 10 minutes, then try again. Sometimes that randomly fixes whatever the problem was.

Nope, argh. 5 minutes exactly.

Try killing any scripts you have on autostart.
Edit to add: And yeah, what Gelston said. Take lich out of the equation altogether. Even if it doesn't fix the issue, you'll have narrowed down where the issue actually lies.

Tried the regular way and got booted from it also. Very odd.

It's a piece of software on your computer (or your router) doing it then. First guess would be antivirus, but there are a lot that can do it. My next step would be to boot in networked safe mode, connect that way, and see if it still happens. (And if you're on wireless, plug in.)
Edit to add: Next step after that - If it works in networked safe mode, it's software on your computer. If it still doesn't work, unplug both router and computer for a full 60 seconds. Long enough for the power supply of each to lose charge and dump the ram fully.

Thank you, I'll give that a try here in a bit.

Definitely something to do with my router or network at home. Hooked up here at work for about 30 minutes and no problems at all.

Obvious solution is to play at work instead of at home.

Ashlander! Definitely a blast from the past there. What was the character name of the dude you used to pal around with in plat? Gerald was his name...can't for the life of me remember his characters name. Pretty sure he was a bard....Geiddian! Just remembered!
Also, I like the way you think!

This is correct. And then play real games when you get home.

I had the same issue myself. Fixed it by removing a bad switch I had installed between my router and my computer. Do you have a switch setup on your local network, or perhaps two switches running in succession?

It's really weird, brought down the firewall again and now it's working fine. 2 hours right now without a drop. Thanks everyone, appreciate the advice.

New Issue now...what the hell? Not sure what the fuck is going on with these sudden changes when I'm not changing anything. It seems like it's something with my network as this is effecting my wife's machine also. Can't hit up LNET whatsoever. This is the error messaging. Anyone have an idea?

For Wireless gemstone disconnects on Windows 10 fix: disable all Power Management settings in Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, right-click the adapter > Properties > Power Management, and then clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box

Yeah, I'm getting the same [lnet: waiting 299 seconds...] crap too. Haven't been able to do anything on lnet since early this morning.
What's really strange is, I can kill lnet but if I try to start it again, I get the same damned message. Once in a great while though a chat from someone seems to get through and I can see it in the lnet chat window.
Is it a lot of people having trouble or just a few? Does anyone know?

This just means LNet is down. It happens from time to time. Local stuff still works like ;go2 and all that, but things like ;locate and chat channels don't.
