I've never had a problem with spam on either my personal account, or my work account. That is, I've never gotten any. Until a week ago.

I've gotten a major influx of spam - up to 30 a day in my work mailbox. I've wracked my brain trying to figure out how in the hell it happened. I haven't visited any questionable sites (here, msnbc, and my mchsi web mail) from work. I haven't gotten any strange mails that I opened. Nothing. Just one morning I get to work, I open my e-mail and there are around 10 worthless VIAGRA LOW MORTGAGE RATES HELLO FROM NIGERIA emails.

The only thing "different" I did was to send an e-mail to one of our consultants with a problem I was having with the software - the same consultant in my previous "ENLARGE YOUR PENIS SIZE!" thread. Is it possible for me to have gotten on a list due to crap on his computer? If it is, can I kill him? :D

I mean, honestly, what kind of computer nerd allows his computer to be that infiltrated with crap?

Ask the people you work with, someone might have decided it would be funny to sign your name up on some of those lists.

To answer your question though. it's highly likely that you got on the list because of his system...and yes, that is a valid reason to commit homicide...I mean, some dude did kill his wheelchair bound little brother for not giving him his NY Yankees hat....

Hehe, I remember when this dude was E-Stalking me (woo new word) and I gave his email address to Stray and he signed him up for tons of gay porn spam. LOL

The strange thing about spam is that there must be some people out there that actually buy this shit, otherwise I'd think they'd stop sending it.

If everyone is doing it and everyone is even, one person can't stop doing it without risking falling behind. It's game theory, or something. Intro to Econ was a long time ago.

I would never buy anything that I found out by a spam message. Is it just a coincidence that SPAM and SCAM are only 1 letter off? I don't think so.
