Ambush DS push down

Been reading wiki and noticed this bit:

"More Ambushing skill relative to the target's level will result in decreased Defensive Strength (DS) for that target."

Does that work in the open too? I've never tested this. If it does, do we know how much at 30 ranks vs say 200 ranks in ambush?

It's a feature of hidden ambushing. And I am pretty sure it is a stance push down, not an actual DS push down.

Further down that article is:
Training in Ambushing will increase the stance pushdown and critical weighting of an attack made from hiding or invisibility, but an attack made from hiding with a ranged weapon only gains the stance pushdown effect and not the added critical weighting.
