Do you want to go to the Taste of Chaos show for free? Do you love MySpace? If you want to help promote MySpace at the show, we have a limited number of tickets to give out!

We're looking for girls aged 18-21 who are cute and very outgoing to come early (around 4 pm) and pass out fliers and put stickers on people who are coming into the shows.

If you fit this description, write back with which DATE/CITY you want to help with. Include your full NAME, EMAIL and CELL phone number.

Some of these shows are sold out, so this might be your only chance to get in!

Here are the cities where we still need help:

3/4 Toronto
3/6 Dayton, OH
3/8 Toledo, OH
3/11 Detroit, MI
3/13 St. Louis
3/14 St. Louis
3/16 Des Moines
3/17 Omaha, NE
3/22 Saskatoon, SK
3/23 Calgary
3/25 Vancouver
3/28 San Jose, CA

ALL OTHER CITIES HAVE BEEN FILLED. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

Does this sound like a scam to anyone else?

I've also never heard of any of those bands. What kind of music is it?

Hahaha, myspace is legit and these bands are awesome... Guess you have to be into rock for it to appease you.

Music royally sucks now. Shitty names, shitty lyrics, terrible skill. :(

They're all UTTERLY HORRIBLE 'emo' bands.

Emo from the mid 90's was fucking great, until these black-haired, badly tattooed fucks gang-raped it. The end result of bad poetry set to even worse music is an abomination.

I didn't think anyone considered it "emo" in the mid 90's.

03-06-2005, 08:22 PM
I saw that coming from a mile away.

Christ, you just became sub-human in my eyes with statement about 90's emo bands. Regarldess the above bands are not really "emo"..

PS: Emo has never was good.

Emo has a broad range, my friend.

Yes, but calling those bands emo is wrong.

You listen to Man O War I think that removes any musical taste credibility you might have had.

peam
03-06-2005, 08:42 PM
Regardless, it's not rock and roll.

03-06-2005, 08:45 PM
Just because it's not "rock and roll" in the tradional sense of the word, doesn't automatically make it emo.

<<You listen to Man O War I think that removes any musical taste credibility you might have had.>>

I think it reinforces my credibility. When current emo can even compare to 80's metal, I'll agree with you.

Classify it, then.

The only thing worse than emo punk is emo metal.

03-06-2005, 08:56 PM
If I had to classify it.. I'd say it would be closer to a type of alternative "rocK", if anything.

Me agreeing with Arkans. Eerie. Again, goodness or badness aside, I doubt they called themselves "emo" until later.

Don't get used to it :P

It'd probably get played on alternative radio, but that's about as far as it goes.

03-06-2005, 09:07 PM
How would it not be considered alternative?

- Arkans

peam
03-06-2005, 09:11 PM
If you want to say it's alternative, that's fine.

I'm a sucker for sub-genres and sub-sub-genres.

You say To-mah-to, I'll say To-may-to.

"Screamo" is much worse than emo.

God I hate those bands.

peam
03-06-2005, 09:14 PM
At least we can all agree that they fucking blow.

03-06-2005, 09:15 PM
True, Peam. I'm definatly not sub-genre's as much as you, so I guess that's why we disagree.

Die emo-punk die... I used to listen to Alternative rock back when the poster child was Kurt Cobain...

Then punk sidled itself in and was lopped in... It's a shame that ska led to punk and punk led to emo and now they're all considered alternative... :-(

OMG I <3 HOOBASTANK!!!!

Maybe it's because I never listen to the radio, but I have never heard of any of those bands.

Peam generally has good taste in music (BRMC), so I'm going to go ahead and assume they blow.

I do a lot of work in the music industry, and although i do not know every one of the bands, of the ones i know I would not consider them to be "emo" bands. As far as the quality goes, I have only seen a few of them live, but The Used is probably one of the best shows i've seen for awhile. I saw them at a free show in Chicago and the played in the parking lot of Sam Ash. Burt is extremely charismatic on stage and you really feel the music.

Check out The Backyard Babies, if you're into BRMC.

I listen to music for me, not anyone else. And being musically raciest doesn't prove you to be some badass that knows more about music then people on pure assumption. I listen to everything, whether I like it or not I respect it. I was just very very happy I got chose to pass out fliers and get an opportunity to see my favorite band (underoath) and only like 2 bands could even be considered "emo" The others are alternative/rock/hardcore/screamo And for the record, emo does not suck.

If I had it my way, bad music would still be riding on the back of the bus and picking my cotton.

I was considering going to TOC here in Orlando. It was here like last weekend. But I decided that the new Used CD isn't too great and I didn't want to spend the money to just see My Chemical Romance. I'd rather save the cash and go see Recover at the end of this month and MC Chris in April.

Yeah so I can't even describe in words the time I had last night... It was UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE... I got there... and they were like and oh yeah just so you know you get to pick any of the bands you want to be on stage with... all of our heads did a 360 I was like underoath underoath!!! So... I worked behind the myspace promotion counter for awhile (not to mention we had all access passes) Then we got to go onstage with underoath (my favorite band of all time) and I got to watch them play in front of thousands with me just 10 feet away and have my picture taken on stage with them playing and got one of their guitar picks. Anyway, the time was AMAZING I got to meet so many of my favorite bands and have the time of my life.... le sigh... if you don't know about myspace (who made this all possible for me) check it out www.myspace.com because it's sofa king awesome.
