Lightening via notes?

So I'm wondering if I have the coins to get an assembly line going, how many times would I need to keep on using one-pound-lightening notes for a leather helm, an aventail and some steel vambraces?

And how exactly will this differ/be the same from merchant lightening? Thanks.

If those items are valuable for some reason (instead of replacing them with lighter pieces) I'd guess 2-3 a piece

How many pounds depends on your notes of course.

I collected 1lb notes because they were the most cost efficient.

Max light is max light so no different than how low a merchant can reduce the item.
