I have already asked in one thread that we stop the petty arguments that go on. If you can explain to me how telling someone to go and sleep with men has ANYTHING to do with oil and fiat $ then fine. I don't see it happening though.

The simple fact is, I have had enough of all of the off topic arguments, we have a U2U feature that can be used. If I have to edit a million posts to ensure that it stops happening then I will because I am sick of it and so are most of our readers.

It wasn't off topic at all, it was simply an ending suggestion (that is only bad if you interpret it to be) to longshot. My post was completely on topic, longshot wanted to me clarify something and I did. Tsa'ah was not a reference to Tsa'ah himself as I clarified. It's synonomous with the word fag, which I wanted to use but can't for some reason.

Tsa’ah also hates gay people, because he too considers being called a “homosexual” an insult.

For the record, not all edited or deleted posts acquire "demerit points". Off topic posts, as a general rule, do not.

As Bob said, the one who has the final authority on the acceptability of a post is Kranar. If you need an opinion right away, I'd suggest an email to Kranar (or a U2U, if you can wait until he has a chance to review the boards).

Because I have the time now, I'm going to break it down real quick for you.

First of all, there is no "pro-gay" rule set. There exists a set of rules that dissuede folks from substituting the term gay for lame. In effect disallowing the constuction of a negative connotation for terms refering back to homosexuals. Thus making certain that if we (as a society) have negative prejudices against gay people it is not because we've associated gay-ness with lame-ness. It's comparable to saying child-protection services is "pro-child" because they make sure kids have basic necessities in non-abusive homes. It just doesn't add up.

As far as the potheads posting that I responded too -- let's get a few things straight. Two consecutive presidents now have been proven pot-users. Pot does not make you a moron, but it does rot your brain. People who habitually use marijuana live in a state of stoned-dom where they rarely use their brain for more than remembering where the ice cream is. Even if they did use their brains while "blazed" the increased levels of anandamide which inhibits synapse activity would mean they get much less out of an hour of "learning" than they would from studying sober. The less they use their brain the less they make of their cognitive potential.

In short, I would place a large wager that Iris spends a majority of his waking life stoned and his cognitive skills have suffered because of it. I agree that the moderate use of marijuana is stigmatized and prejudiced by many. However, you're pointing your fingers at the wrong person. Instead of telling me how wrong I am, let Iriscience know that his blatent stupidity puts your use of marijuana in a terrible light.

My post was completely on topic, longshot wanted to me clarify something and I did. Tsa'ah was not a reference to Tsa'ah himself as I clarified. It's synonomous with the word fag, which I wanted to use but can't for some reason.
