Distinct Messaging

I was hunting in the early morning just outside the Outpost when I received this messaging...

A silvery form trots out from a hideout beneath some thick pine boughs. The fox gazes disdainfully at you, its bright, black eyes sparkling with canniness. Pointed ears tufted with black fur twitch nervously as the animal contemplates its course. Then, as silently as it appeared, it turns and fades into the snowdrifts, leaving one last glimpse of its luxurious, black-tipped tail.

Has anyone seen this before, or was a GM checking up on me?

Usually when GM's check up on you, you trip and fall, or get knocked over, or something along those lines. I've never seen that message, but it really didn't look like a GM checking up on you since it didn't talk to you or something like that.

I briefly waited about the area, attempting to draw out the creature again and thought of using MYchars, but nothing came of it.

That's just a rare room emit. GM's hide them in all sorts of places. I've seen that one before or one that looks very much like it.

With a sudden explosion of snow and a rustle of wings, a huge bird breaks from cover within the branches of a nearby modwir. It sails away on an impressive expanse of white feathers, giving you a momentary glimpse of huge, round eyes as golden as the sun. The owl disappears in another heartbeat, lost within the dark pine boughs.

Pinefar and the Oblin mountain in Icemule have a ton of messages like that, they aren't very common either but there are plenty of them, I really do like them. Also, whoever painted the Pinefar rooms did a really good job, it really captures the place (especially the rooms just past the mounds into grizzly bears).

Man I can't say enough how much I :heart: :heart: :heart: Pinefar and Olbin's pass. Some of my best and most entertaining hunting days were spent there.

Once I was wandering up to the icy staircase to Olbin's Pass and there was a messaging about shadows and movement in them as I walked around. Really freaked me out as I hadn't seen it before so I asked a few folks and apparently it's normal for that area.

Using SF (which I just started doing back on the Dhu) I found a LOT of things in the areas that you can look at and interact with I never knew were there before. Including a room in the first cave node that has a petrified frozen halfling in a tomb of ice.

Whomever designed all those areas did a fantastic job. I wish there was hunting more productive for me so I could have stayed there. :(
