Is 230 worth it?

I have a warpath and I am thinking of training up to 230 in major spiritual to get spiritual abolition instead of placing 5 spell ranks in the empath circle. Is it worth it as a dispel or does 119 do the trick for dispelling? Is 230 that much of an improvement over 119?

230 can dispel several spells at once, so it is a big improvement over 119, which only dispels one spell at a time. It's pretty damn expensive, though. About the only time I ever find myself using it is against a grimswarm shaman or some other high-level spiritual spellcaster that I can't quite ward.

If you're having trouble hitting a creature, you might try 1108. It seems like people forget about that spell a lot, but it's pretty cheap and can make a creature significantly easier to hit with a melee or bolt attack. I guess it might be less effective if you don't have a lot of telepathy and/or you can't generate 150+ endrolls, though...

Either way, you'll end up with 230 eventually.

Don't forget that 1108 can only be used on the living, regardless of any telepathy lore. *grumbles*
