View Full Version : Does anyone remember this cartoon?

Drew

It was from the late 80s or early 90s and it was called Exo-Tech. It was basically about these guys who wore exo-armour and fought some bad dudes in similar armour on mars and jupiter and other planets and space ships. I remember having the toys to it and watching it a lot but not a single person I've talked to has any recollection of it and I can't find a single thing on google.

Also, here's a webpage with tons of intros to mostly 80's and 90s shows and cartoons. Who didn't love Airwolf? And the Teddy Ruxpin intro is amazingly homosexual (if that's not allowed please replace with "beef wellington" ).

Edited because of stupid unintentional smilies.

I watched every show intro that I recognized. I must say that it brought me WAY WAY back to when I was a kid. I enjoyed it.

Holy crap I forgot about a lot of those. I remember watching them as a kid. Now I feel old.

That guy's bandwith bill has to be incredible. Also the ninja turtles video is weird, they are called "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles" which I guess is what they were called overseas.

Exo Squad. It was a little Robotechish with the story line.

Anyone remeber "Visionaries" and "Robotics"??

Visionaries got me all caught up as a kid. The medievil nights with animal totems on their armor that they could change into.

and Robotics was about two waring alien species on a planet going through volcanic erruptions and not what so they donwloaded themselves into computers and then into these giant combat machines that could somewhat transform. then humans came along and joined with them. Weird

ooooh and then there was this other cartoon from back in the day about this spacehship that crashed on a prehistoric planet and the people used the dinosaurs to fight each other. The bad guys used mind control devices on T-rexs n shit. Weird.....I forget what it was called

Anyone remember a cartoon probably around 93-94 or so... came on Fox REAL early in the morning (5:30 or 6 AM). Basically it was this teenage kid that lived with all these robots that skated on rollerblades and fought another sect of robots with lasers and bombs and shit. Had a lot of "comedy" to it... for the life of me, I can't remember anything else about it.

I remember Robotix ... about two warring alien races that were dieing off and tranferred theirselves into robot bodies. One of those after school shows that had to share 30 minutes of time with two other crappy cartoons like Gem.

Visionaries ... didn't ring a bell until I remembered my younger brother being into the toys.

I remember the neo-humans, or whatever they were called, and how the good guy neo-human was in the two-seater that could disappear. Also, I had a crush on the hot chick, and weird exo-pr0n fantasies. I don't want to talk about this anymore.

I just had to check the Teddy Ruxpin intro to see if I wanted to say anything. And sure enough, I do. That is so not amazingly homosexual. This (http://www.easyboyfriend.com/kiss/gay_kiss040606.jpg) is amazingly homosexual. So is this (http://www.mannersism.net/images/beefcake/AnF_lipstickunderwear11.jpg) (thank you Abercrombie & Fitch.) And just because I like groups of threes (no double entendre intended), this too (http://www.imrl.com/galleries/2004/2004winners/imlwinners2004046.jpg) is amazingly homosexual.

But the Teddy Ruxpin clip? So utterly and totally straight (http://www.pixyland.org/peterpan/photo_closeups_pp1.htm).

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
Thundercats
He-man, masters of the Universe
Transformers

Ding ding. Thanks Tsa'ah. Yeah I almost called it "American Robotech" when I wrote up the FP but then I remembered that Robotech was the American version of Macross so that didn't make much sense.

Still you have to feel for that poor guy who got the Heart ring. What a fucking bumb deal compared to fire and such.

Haha, I always thought the same thing and they always tried to make him seem like he was the key to everything just because they gave him the crappy power (he did have a monkey though).

I really loved Captain Planet, even as a young capitalist in training. I loved how the enemies were business men and their goals were simple:

1. Pollute the world!
2. Profit! (after accomplishing goal 1)

It's a wonder I didn't join Stay in the socialist party after that kind of indoctrination!

I remember one episode where the big bad guy was hypnotized or something and one of the robots was like "Uh let's kill him and end world suffering" and Zip is like "That's not the way the game is played!!" and I remember thinking "The greatest military commander of all time!!!!!!!!!!1"

King Arthur and his knights and they had their weapons emblazoned on their armor. What cartoon was that?

Pole Position
Voltron
Thundercats
GI Joe
Transformers
Ghetto Transformers (Go-Bots heh)

Man I miss the good stuff.

I remember that King Arthur one. It was when all the football players got put back in time. I think it was, "King Arthur and the Knights of Justice".. That was a pretty good cartoon. They all transformed into knights at the round table and shit.

Now I remember why "Grimlock" sounded so familiar.

You fucking Dinobot rip off. :P

My staple cartoons as a kid were Transformers, GI Joe, all 3 Robotech, both Voltrons (though the lions were far greater), G-Force, and Speed Racer.

Through Jr High and early HS it was Silverhawks/Thundercats (if you watch them both they really are the same cartoon), Robotix (which was a partial episode followed by a partial of Gem followed by a partial of Jayce and the WW [thanks Iz], and a few others I can't think of at the moment.

Yeah it was on early sunday mornings where I live and was the only good sunday cartoon (other than Street Sharks, JAWESOME!).

No one mentioned one of my definate favorite, the x-men cartoon which I thought was spectacular. I especially enjoyed watching them think of new and exciting ways to NOT have Wolverine ever use his claws on someone living.

Also, I don't know if anyone remembers but there were two Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons, one was on ABC and had good animation and was pretty cool and the other (I forget which channel) had crappy animation and was more humour and wasn't so great.

PS: Another great cartoon, Cowboys of Moo Mesa.

The good one had Sally and Bunny and so on. The other one was trash.

Yeah, I remember the one with the good animation. They were hanging out in the forest a lot and rings made Sonic just become super good. The other one wasn't that good.

Dinosaucers? I think that was the name of it.

Also will reiterate the godliness of TMNT...my earliest TV memories were watching this show. Also used to watch Smurfs, David the Gnome, and Grimm's Fairy Tales...

I remember David and Gnome and Dinosaucers. I still wonder which ones were my favorite, probably The Real Ghostbusters. Egon was the man.

Yeah, toys generally hate it when you turn their torso into a water bong.

Dashing and daring, courageous and caring
Faithful and friendly with stories to share
All through the forest they sing out in chorus
Marching along as their song fills the air

High adventure that's beyond compare
They are the Gummi Bears

Untrue.

It has no feelings, and therefore was indifferent when I chose to do so.

And actually, in reality, I kept it really well. It was my little brother that completely demolished it.. sometime between dropping it out the second story window, and throwing it against the wall when the power rangers shot at it.

In college I wrote a paper comparing the Gummi Bears theme song to the current (at the time) war in Afghanistan. No, seriously.
