College Basketball is winding down and getting ready to head into march madness. I want to hear your predictions for the national champs this year and why you think they have a shot! And I know that the list of 64 isnt out yet, but who cares, i'm already looking forward to Illinois going all the way undefeated! Go Illini!

I am from Illinois and I love the Illini, but I don't think they can go all the way. They don't have the inside presence that they need. Nick Smith just doesn't cut it. They have one bad shooting night against a team with a big man and they are done. I think North Carolina looks like a real solid choice.

I guess I'll root for Villanova.. local team.

Unless St Joe's wins the A10 tourney, than they'll be my team 100%, though they won't come near doing what they did last year.

The Illini will take it providing the following don't happen.

1. Inflated egos when local writers refer to them as the "best" UI team ever.
2. No one decided to drive on a suspended license.
3. No one decided to burglarize or mug.
4. No one gets a DUI.

Aside from that, they have the most going for them. Just let it end quick; this home game traffic is starting to piss me off.

The thing is you say if they [Illinois] have one bad night shooting they're toast... but they have five starters that can shoot the ball equally as well. Look at Head.. leading scorer at only 19 points per game, that's because Dee Brown and Deron Williams are shooting just as well and they SHARE the ball amazingly. Nick Smith???? What about Augustine and Powell Jr? Powell just had a night where he was 10 for 10 from the floor!! They dont have the post presence they need, but that isn't their game. I think Illinois is just too damn good to be beat this year.

*Edit - And if you've never seen Dee Brown play defense in those close games, you've never lived!
