It's pretty great. They've expanded on a lot of systems that were in Origins. and added new ones. Dialogue choices are a big one, they're actually fairly meaningful and can affect the ending. Ship combat is back slightly more arcade-y than it was in Black Flag. They've got a sort-of-Shadow of Mordor mercenary system where you can recruit guys you fight to your side. There's an exploration mode where they are vague about targets and locations so you Morrowind grognards can put your money where your mouth is.
The only thing I don't like is that the male main character sounds exactly like Ezio and some of the voice acting is really bad.
