Awesome... my roommate is flying out from Ohio to catch the show I think. I've heard NIN is one of the greatest live bands, would love to go see them!

Keen. I felt bummed to miss the Fragile stuff. Only time I've seen NiN is with David Bowie... which was still damn cool (and amusing seeing David Bowie and Trent Reznor singing together... Bowie is so much taller than Reznor is.)

Was I the only one that thought this was going to be a lesbian appreciation post about Nieninque?

Nope. I was too. :D
I've been wanting to go to a NIN concert for years. They really need to come back to CT. My fiance got to see Reznor and Bowie. Lucky fucker.

What the. They go from Philly straight down to Atlanta, skipping the best state in between which I also happen to live in :(

Anyway, speaking of NIN, stop being a Gothmo and listen to some real music. Reznor has talent, but Goths/Emos are in the same catagory to me. SUB-HUMAN.

These guys LOVE NIN.. Are *YOU* one of them???

Don't get too excited Michi, NIN are doing a two night show over here at the end of March. Tickets were sold out within 15 MINUTES, and are now selling for the equivilent of $600 per pair. Which fucking sucks. They need to do a proper tour.

Heh, no, I'm not one of "them."
I'm also not a "gothmo" or whatever the hell you said.
Also, I'm jealous of all you who got to see Trent with David Bowie, I love them both. But I would bet I was just a tad too young when you guys saw them, heh. :D

I saw NIN with the Jim Rose Circus on the Downward Spiral tour, best concert I've ever been to.

Not to hijack the thread, but what do you all consider the most solid NIN album? I have heard some of their stuff and really liked it, and I heard some stuff I didn't like at all.
Anyone recommend a good cd, or at the least a compilation CD?

It really depends. The Fragile is good if you're looking for more mellowish music (as far as NIN goes, anyway). It even has a few instrumentals.
My personal favorites are Broken and Pretty Hate Machine, both of which are "angrier" sounding than the Fragile.
If I had to pick I would say Pretty Hate Machine, followed closely by the Fragile.

I loved the song Closer if that means anything.

I'm bummed that they don't have any Ohio/Indiana dates listed; a few friends and I will be driving up for one of the Chicago dates. The last time I saw NIN live was in Columbus for the Fragility tour in 2000 I believe. I haven't seen a better live show yet.
As for my favorite album . . . tough one. Downward Spiral is an easy one to call out, but I get more play out of Fragile, Broken, and And All That Could Have Been than anything else. For a good mixture of songs from various albums the And All That Could Have Been live cd (and dvd) is very good.
Kind of bummed too that With Teeth won't have any instrumentals, but oh well. New NIN will keep be busy for awhile.

So, NIN does not have a compilation CD out?

Nope, best you'll get is a live album (the previously mentioned And All That Could Have Been). There isn't any official studio album that contains various songs from various albums (at least not to my knowledge).

Pretty hate Machine, hands down. It's only bad point is that it doesn't have Happiness in Slavery on it, whish is my favorite song.

If you guys haven't listened to the Line Begins to Blur or the Hand that Feeds yet, you should.
I especially like the Line Begins to Blur... I can't wait for With Teeth! :D
I actually like some nin shit

Tied between Downward Spiral and Fragile for me. The first is more rage filled the next is more bass filled, and Trent finally figuring out the whole bass thing made for good music. Though, Hurt and a Warm Place are some of my favorite bits of Downward Spiral.

As far as I'm concerned any of the halo's are a safe bet. Stay away from further down the spiral though, that album was really shitty.

Things Falling Apart was iffy, I mean, do I really need 6 billion versions of Starfuckers? (as it appears on the The Fragile was the best version anyway) Other than that it was good.
