There were some cloaks sold a few years back by some merchant. If I remember right, there was a way to un-attune them so someone else could wear them.
Does anyone remember how? It's driving me crazy.

Very welcome!
Used to love those things with the spooky talking spider clasp thingy and all.

Now I'm feeling pretty stupid here but I've had one of those attuned spidersilk cloaks since they first came out & have no idea what you mean by the talking clasp?? :?:

try whispering to the clasp, or rubbing it or kissing it... something along those lines.

I have one stashed in my locker, but don't have access right now. What does that do?

Acts like a magic 8-ball. You can tap and tickle them too, I believe.
listen clasp
A glossy black spider-shaped clasp crawls up your neck. You hear a strange dry clicking voice whisper, "Yes."
tap clasp
A glossy black spider-shaped clasp twitches and spreads its legs threateningly with a hiss.
tickle clasp
A glossy black spider-shaped clasp gently strokes your throat.

Ah memories!
For some reason, I could never get my cloaks to change description and spit out those little webbed bugs though.

Im a little late with this, but have you tried "clean cloak"? That always works for me.

That is correct. Expanding on it a bit, if you let the cloak go for a long time (as in, not CLEANing it), the webs the spiders create will begin to cover the cloak. In time, the cloak's appearance changes to "web-draped" and perhaps "web-covered."
Also, you'll occasionally get the message that a bug comes a bit too close to your cloak and gets stuck. I believe that means that you have a bug that will be released if you CLEAN the CLOAK. Regardless, if you do clean it, you'll also clean off the webs you've built up, and you'll need to start it again.
Enjoy!
