So I took about a 10 year break from the game, sold my rogue, but got him back and he had a skill set that I'm still uncertain about. I'm hoping there's a capped UAC rogue out there to tell me if this skill set up will work, and how? I tried this set up in the Duskruin Arena and it just wasn't working, I couldn't (or don't know how to) hold my own. I have a fixskills available so I would like to use it to make him as effective as possible hunting wherever (not sure where to go). I've got the ability for a wizard and spiritual spell up when needed too.
One piece I'm really curious about is what armor goes best with UAC.

I got him back with maxed lockpicking skills and it's been a nice luxury, but I suppose I can live without it should there be a better way. I would appreicate any advice. Even if it's to tell me to play a different style because it's superior, I just want the ability to comfortably hunt post cap and build skills eventually.
Thanks in advance!

I have my eyes on a suit of doubles, but if i get robes, should I drop armor use to apply to other skills? Also, I guessing if I use robes I should keep 3x dodge? If I dropped dodge to 2-2.5x it could free up a lot of tp.

Even if you go robes won't you want the armor ranks for Armor Stealth or Evasion?

Full disclosure, my UAC alt is a wizard and only 51, but from what it looks like, yours looks pretty stout. This is what I will say about armor, my wizard was in doubles and the only reason he went down to reinforced was spell hindrance. If I did not have to worry about that, I would at least be in doubles, maybe in leather breastplate or higher. You are going to be squishy if you do not get a stun when you spring from hiding, good armor will at least mitigate that some. Not sure why you could not wear brig, I would think a set of FGB or similar would go a long way to protecting you. If it is because of only 1 rank in Evade Mastery that you do not want wear heavier, me personally would sacrifice some surge of strength to get more and get into brig. Just my .02.

I think you need to expound on this a little. What exactly wasn't working and why didn't you feel you could hold your own? Were you not getting good hits? Were you taking too many hits yourself? Did you get a full set of outside spells before going in to the arena? I love UAC because the system is completely different from AS based attacks and I think it works better. Plus the reduced roundtimes are sweet. I also love using scripts like ;combo that tier up automatically. ;combo, wait until dead, repeat. Something to keep in mind is what hunting style you were using before you took your break. When you change hunting styles, you typically need to change your tactics to go along with it.
Edit to add: Some people just inherently like certain hunting styles. I love UAC but HATE ranged. Others swear by ranged and would never do anything different. Sometimes its not about what works best, but just about what you prefer.

Went in with a full wizard spell up and did fine against the lesser creatures. The champion mobs kept getting attacks on me and then would maneuver me to death. I'm guessing it's because I had MBP on at the time, but like I said - I didn't design this skill build so I don't know how it was intended to play. The last time I hunted with this guy was over 10 years ago as a spell archer. I'm eager to make this work though because it seems like it could be fun. Does the combo script work for hiding and ambushing? With punch mastery, I thought I'd be spending most of my time ambushing from the shadows.

He could be tougher but do try to hide and ambush. If you stand in the open against mobs with 5 ranks MOC you'll struggle. Might have to sneak away then find critters you can ambush 1 on 1. Taking TWC to .5x will give you something like +10 ds and more MOC will help with mobs.
Force on Force is a system that lowers a character's defensive stance upon being attacked by multiple opponents. Each opponent lowers the character's stance by 25% until the character is treated to be in a fully offensive stance. Beyond 4 opponents, the defending character's defensive strength is further lowered, making Force on Force very deadly. Training in Multi Opponent Combat mitigates Force on Force.
If you hide from a mob does it reset the force on force penalty?

Not sure about it resetting. I've yet to take him on a a real hunt to see how things so. I'm guessing I'll be heading to Nelemar to see how things work!

I've got a planned fixskill ready - hopefully someone can tell me if I'm making improvements or just complicating things. I'd like to start hunting nelemar in double leathers with this build. I've removed the bonuses to the skills since this is just something I'm planning out in the skill manager.

I would probably do the following
finish
2x cm
2x ambush
3x picking
3x disarm
before 3x dodge

Some things I see, why have so much armor use, why 60 ranks, if you are looking to max evasion, you do not have enough and you only need 15 to train off all penalties and 56 to get the -1 second tier reduction so that number seems a little arbitrary and arcane symbols, at most you should only need 15 ranks for bugs, my 71 train rogue only has 10 and he has never missed a bug and he is only doubled in pick skills. Some other quick thoughts, do you need 25 ranks in harness power, you can almost certainly drop that to 10 or 15 at most, unless he is GoS, not sure about the swimming either, I was always under the impression that 50 at cap was all that was necessary for both climb and swim and if he is in GoS then you definitely do not need more than 50.

My thoughts with the the armor use was to get to at least the 56 break for the -1, and then to just keep around some extra for the armor skills for an extra boost to hiding or evasion. I was going to play around with those and see which was more beneficial. I am trying to raise arcane symbols, miu and HP to increase what spells I can hold in spell burst areas. The rogue is a CoL master at the moment, so I could drop HP for more MIU/AS since they are cheaper. Is it foolish to do that? I have the ability to get a full wizard spell up, and a spiritual spell up whenever needed.
Thanks.

The rogue robes build gets wrecked by TD like a monk. With 200 armor ranks and armored evasion, you can train away the entire AP for any armor up to double chain and 5 AP max up to MBP.

I would love to have that much armor use, but it seems far away. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up picking like level boxes. The goal is to find what's best for now though and train the rest eventually. Maybe lockpicking will have to wait.

Ok, armor reasoning makes sense, just not sure if right now it is the best use of TP's but that is pretty subjective, so I cannot say either way for sure. Spell burst sucks, I desperately try to avoid them with my rogue, which is not always possible so, I suspect your thinking is sound if you want to hunt those areas and getting as many magical skills as possible is probably a good idea, the added benefit of arcane symbols and MIU is the ability to use scrolls and imbeds.
