I'll have to dig up an article later.
Here's one from the Sun Times ... Keyes on gays: Here (http://www.suntimes.com/output/elect/cst-nws-keyes02.html)
Basically just another "gay" tear from Keyes back in September. There have been many, including attacking fellow GOP member's daughter (Cheney).
The kicker ... Alan Keyes daughter just came out of the closet.

Yes, the man is scum. Glad you can see it.
Instead of saving face in the manner which Cheney did, by keeping his mouth shut and declining to answer question, he decides to shoot his mouth off. He has absolutely no honor, no respect, and no loyalty to members of his own political party.
It will be interesting to see how he reacts to his own daughter being gay.

I don't even know who he is, but I don't see where you're going with this at all. If I was a close relative to Fidel Castro, I wouldn't be ashamed to complain about illegal immigrants from Cuba. Horrible and irrelevant analogy, but honestly, he's not his daughter.

You're right ... it's a horrible analogy.
Of course he's not his daughter ... that would be a genetic miracle now wouldn't it. He is the woman's father however. Throughout his entire career of condemning gays and thumping the bible, he has been condemning his own daughter.
It will take some searching, but I do remember an article quoting him saying something to the affect that poor parenting and the breakdown of the home environment is one of the root causes of homosexuality. He's blamed parents. I wonder if he's going to belly up for a dish of his own making.

I remember seeing pictures of his daughter making out with some other chick on the internet.

Despite people blowing off the blogging community, they've had this one outed for some time now. CNN is just picking it up.
I'm sort of on the fence about something like this. Seeing Mary Cheney's name dragged through the 2004 campaign was rather senseless and shouldn't have even been a blurb. Cheney himself wouldn't make it an issue, yet the media and the Democratic Party kept pushing it out there. I understood the angle. If the GOP was so hell bent on family, why were they cutting off flesh and blood from the same rights they enjoyed?
With Keyes it's rather different. As much as I despise Bush, I despise Keyes so much more. Keyes has embarrassed nearly any party member that ever thought of supporting him. Keyes can't answer a question without thumping his bible in concert with a hell fire and brimstone answer.
It's rather poetic, yet at the same time it's going to be nothing more than the sad state of sensationalism that is the media.

why she is awesome:
When did you first realize that you were a lesbian?
Probably the first time I saw the movie Hackers—my first taste of Angelina Jolie.

You know I read this, and the first thing that flashed in my mind was that clip from X-Men where the senators daughter's arms started stretching and crap to show she was a mutant.
The human reaction when the things we 'hate' come home to us amazes me. Parents seem to either come to terms and deal with it, or go loony. Heard about one case in alabama like 50 years ago where a man in the KKK talked about how white people who like black people were worse than black themselves and should all be shot. He found out his son was in love with a black woman and the KKK killed both of them.
Wish I could remember where I read it :(

Hard to figure why all these people are so damned interested in what other people are doing in their own homes, beds, or whatever.
Each to his/her own.

Exactly. True awesomeness realizes that Angelina is on this planet for one purpose only. To turn straight women gay.
I'm loving the irony of this situation.

Now now. Can't say I'm a fan of PB but that's just insulting. And I mean to PB. Considering how badly Keyes needs to meet the God he claims to know the will of, even in jest I wouldn't compare someone to him.

Kicked her out of the house, disowned her and cut off her college money.
Some gay support foundation out of California is now picking up her tuition.
While I would never vote for Keyes, (voted for Obama last election) Keyes does serve a useful purpose. When he wasn't spouting rhetoric on social issues like abortion and gays, he actually had good ideas in terms of fiscal policy. He is way more fiscal conservative than Bush.
Finally, he single handedly is an example that not all blacks are democrats.
I imagine he warned his daughter that if she went public to embarass him he would retaliate and did so. You can't accuse Keyes of being a flip/flop wishy washy type.

So I've been reading. Though, evicted (without legal action) would be a more accurate term in my book.
Really shows how well he stands by the "family values" so adamantly preached during his campaign.

I'll never vote for a carpet bagger.

How well can you believe his ideas when the center piece was bull shit?
He is way more fiscal conservative than Bush.
That doesn't take much doing. Enron was more of a fiscally conservative entity than Bush.
Finally, he single handedly is an example that not all blacks are democrats.
I can think of better examples. Single handedly would be an insult to so many.

Sure you can. The whole family values charade.
He chose career and religion over his own child. To zealots and fanatic nuts it would be a sign of true devotion. To normal people raising children of their own ... it shows him to be a scum bag.

[Chicago, Ritzy Hotel Room]
A giant conference room table dominates the room. Seated around the table are various trolls, fat cats and other Republican nobility. Each person at the table is surrounded by at least two or three interns, servants and wannabes. Any more smoke in the room and the fire department would show.
ChairLady says, "This meeting is coming to order. We are going to discuss replacing former candidate Jack Ryan. We need to win! lets hear those ideas!"
Fat Cat Republican says, "There is always that Oberweiss guy that came in number two!"
Speaking in BullShit, Spinster Republican says, "He pissed off all the Hispanics with his anti-immigrant commercials."
ChairLady says, "We still need a candidate...send him in!"
Jim Oberweiss just arrived.
Oberweiss says, "Free Ice Cream for everyone if you let me run!"
Oberweiss says, "Except immigrants!"
Laughter is heard around the room.
Chairlady waves her hand in a dismissive gesture.
Some thug grabs Oberweiss and drags him out.
Speaking in Bullshit, Spinster Republican says, "Everyone loves this Obama guy...and hes a black guy! Know what we need? A black guy! We can't win with out a black guy...because according to the polls...82% of voters think black guys are cool."
Various trolls around the table adopt agreeable expressions.
ChairLady says, "Where are we going to get a black guy?"
Random Republican mutters, "Check the rolls."
An intern dashes from the room.
An intern dashes into the room and hands a short piece of paper to ChairLady, then dashes off again.
ChairLady says, "Well, Looks like we have four. Colin Powell and Condy Rice are already taken...so that leaves...."
ChairLady says, "Alan Keyes and Nipsey Russell."
A voice in the shadows says, "We can't have the Tin Man from the Wiz as a candidate, we'll be a laughing stock!"
ChairLady says, "Keyes it is. All in favor, say Aye."
Voices are heard casting a resounding vote of "Aye!"
Unaltered log....I swear!

Every drive on an interstate? They are modelled after the autobahn in Germany...which was Hitler's idea. Conclusion is that even scum bags can have a couple of good ideas. Oh, and Hitler and Keyes are scum fascists.

Keyes claims that it was a reporter, not himself who brought up Cheney's daughter.
I have to agree with Keyes on at least two issues.
A. Abortion - I believe it is the taking of a life and should be outlawed. And no I am not a bible thumping evangelical.
B. The nature of a homosexual relationship is self centred because it doesn't involve the raising of children. Raising children takes the focus away from oneself and on to the child. I love kids but I wonder if I am prepared to make the sacrifices necessary to have them. I acknowledge that my actions are selfish. I suppose Keyes comments would also apply to those heterosexual couples who choose not have kids.
This does not mean I like, or support Keyes on any other issues. He has the right to his beliefs, although I don't share most of them. If I am not mistaken the Bible says to hate the sin but to love the sinner. So if Keyes believes homosexuality is a sin, as a good Christian he should still love and support his daughter. Kicking her out and abandoning her is an assholic move.
