Turning Off Picture / Gifs

Is there a way to turn off people's avatars or images in their signatures. I like to glance at this at work and it would be nice not to have some inappropriate pics / gifs not automatically loading.

Anyone have suggestions?

settings > general settings > thread display options > uncheck show signatures, avatars, and images
