Tried it out in GS4 tonight with their autoconvert.
My DS that used to be 450 (with my own spells) is now somewhere around 206. That's just insane. I'm back to zombies where I used to be up in farmhands and woodsmen.
Why did they drop DS so badly?!

Ouch! That has got to hurt!
I understand that the PTB are not through yet. They will be adjusting the creatures, as well. That may bring about a difference for you. I would not give up yet, if you still enjoy the game.

I re-allocated my 30-Cleric awhile back in the test. Fully trained in weapons (for a Cleric) when she came out, she couldnt kill a rolton with her blade. I am hoping it was a bug. It was about 4am. and no one was on. We'll see.

Alright...it's dropping, yes. BUT critters have **not** been updated. They're also getting dropped so it'll be about the same, relatively.

Read my post on WarriorStone. Pures get the shaft; My rogue can hit a guarded stanced sorcerer at nearly every level. Balance that.

Err...but your guarded stance sorc won't miss 35% of the time...

Since when were sorcerer's good at dodging. Are guild skills now factored using dodge? But hey, its going to be easier for me, so please keep kissing Mels/Wardens ass.

Screw that, Stay....there's bits of this that piss me off tremendously. Take Bards for example...those poor bastards. Here it is broken down, however....most swings will have a 30% chance to miss a creature. Add an extra 5% ambushing failiure for a Rogue...35%
Spells will go right through.

Did sorcerers get any spells changed to add to dodging? I know my wizard did. I would sincerely hope that all casters got *some* sort of help with that. I'm not too terribly worried about my wizard come GS4, because with the staff she only lost 12 or 13 defense, and gained all those tp's. And I had a very difficult time getting 'hit' so I could check my DS. So I think all the spells wizards got that add to dodging are fantastic, I just really hope all pures got some.
Sorcerers did not.

Bards, btw come out the ass end of the game with the most DS probably. My own will be buff from 50+.
Again, this is not a PvP game. If I wanted like-lvl sorc dead, I'd do the same as I do now: guild skills. However, the fact you glazed over is how can critters be balanced when the numbers are so far apart?

It's simple. Pures will die all the time and squares will never fry.

A clean miss.
Not even close.
But your bard is a god among bards, Soulpieced. Not all of us have your advancement or your number crunching, heh. I know I certainly don't. I'm just going to have to go with what looks logical in the game and hope I don't screw my character.

Err....Soul....how many Bard specific things came out?
Plus you have to factor in the joy of training a semi in the GS4 training format.

Uh, none? Song of mirrors was moved to spell rank 19, Eonaks was removed, and.... there are no "new" improvements to existing spellsongs?

WHAT?!?! Eonak's has been removed?! I did not read that! Well that screws the fucking pooch for me.

The bard page on GSIV doesn't say anything about Eonak's getting removed...

That's because the GM's are too cool to post the bardic changes with anything else.

Alright, where does it say Eonak's getting removed? It could just be a bug in the test instance.

>I know I love it. It is this type of treatment that the profession gets from the Staff that makes me question their dedication to barding---does anyone think it might be less than that to rogues warriors or sorcs? I wonder...
Wonder away :) The change to 1035 was a fairly late one, brought about by the dedication of the barding staff. Because the change was so late, there are cascading changes that are happening too, where many of the other professions don't have that. We don't want to be passing out too much info before it's been solidified, because we don't want to be perceived as having misled you.

Song of Mirrors Questions:
1) Mana to start the song will now be only 19? (Expected answer: Yes)
Yes
2) Renewal cost will be more in line with "helper" spells like LuckSong (4 and increasing), due to the reduced benefits provided by the spell; probably more in the neighborhood of 6 or 8 base, plus the increasing amount? (Expected answer: Yes)
Yes
3) Text of the description/actual effect will be changed to "+ 1 per spell known beyond <actual final level of spell>"; currently this would be "19"? (Expected answer: Yes)
Yes
4) Benefit will be uncapped? (Expected answer: Yes)
Yes
5) Renewal cost may increase, as with the current LuckSong or the new Song of Valor, as above? (Expected answer: Yes)
Yes

With 1019 now being "Mirrors" in GS4...
1) The AS bonus conferred by 1007 will be increased by additional Song ranks? (I really hope so!)
Yes
2) The base mana cost and renewal cost my be increased, as with LuckSong, based on any increased bonuses? (Expected answer: Yes)
Yes
3) The increased HP recovery will be an added benefit at <some number of Songs known>?
Yes
3a) The HP recovery may also increase with additional Songs known?
It's planned to remain as it is today
