The new version of my Sahra's Bus Company movement script for StormFront now connects all named locations in the Elven Nations (Ta'Illistim, Sylvarraend, Ta'Vaalor, Zul Logoth, plus most outlying hunting areas) and all locations in Wehnimer's Landing (no hunting areas, yet) into one, continuous, any-to-any movement network.

Every shop, guildhall, public building, square, tourist-trap, etc., is on the network (328 places in all, as of today), and you can go from any one to any other with a single, quick command (plus, of course, depending on where you're going, between two seconds and maybe 45 minutes of travel-time, depending on ferry and cart schedules and other variables).

Full online map integration, menu- and command-line modes, web-based and in-game docs, and other special features are supported. See website at www.sahracorp.com for more info and current version (which grows -- and becomes more bug-free -- daily).

P.S. We ripped out the horses and dragons. Lighten up!

Please stop doing stupid ACTS.

and other special features (including the ability to define horses, dragons and other beasts of conveyance and automate travel-roleplay with them)

That isn't roleplaying, that's act and smile abuse. Try reading policy.

Oh no, not "fantasy roleplay!"

Yeah. Complete fantasy. In her own head.

Falgrin smiles as he watches Ilvane approach his kilt and tug on it longingly. Ilvane says, "Falgrin, I want you so bad it hurts".

I guess you don't have a problem with that then because it's the same abuse.

I'm offended that you think Ilvane would want a dwarf so badly. :D

A bit harsh, but the above posters are correct. I am sure many would and do appreciate the effort you put in to designing the ACT's which would make it appear as if you are riding different animals.

However, unless those creatures physically exist, and are with you for the entire length of the journey, using act in such a manner would be considered abuse and is against Gemstone Policy.
Perhaps you could attempt ACT messaging in your scripts, but ensure that it is within the guidelines of policy. For example:

(Evarin appears to be setting about in an effort of preparing himself. He begins by rearranging his gear to a more firmly seated and comfortable position, and follows with a few quick stretching movements. With a last, sweeping gaze about the area, Evarin takes off, the pace set at an easy run.)

While devastatingly far from perfect, I believe this example would fall within the ACT guidelines, and still allow for some added roleplay to your travel script.

Could someone please grab the bit of Policy that goes over the ACT and Smile verbs, and a link to the Gemstone TOS as well? Knowing exactly what and what isn't allowable would be quite helpful at the moment.

Ilvane and a dwarf? :snicker:

Ewww..;)

Much worse than a horse or Dragon, since a horse or dragon could happen, and that never would.;) hehe.

Heh. After re-reading sahra's opening post, I see she has opened up the act abuse subject by speaking of including horses, dragons, and all manner of fell beasts being used as "conveyances". Discussing the ridiculousness of such things is completely on-topic, in that case, so......have at it. :D

Ilvane makes me sad.

CT makes me so sad, she'll be in charge of milking Bayne tonight.

It's nice that you've made this script but I would strongly encourage you to remove this part from it.

Someone creating a script with the ability to define dragons and shit isn't cool. Any idiot could do that. Oops, one already did.

Edited to add - From Sahra's website: "New with Beta 3.0: Movement Skins! Cute little scripted actions to enhance roleplay (now completely compliant with game policy!)" Let's see how this is interpreted.

You're all absolutely correct. I pulled the horses and dragons (though I loved them, honestly), and SBC is reduced once again to a harmless, policy-compliant utility.

Thanks for being nicer, here, than over in the 'Sahra is an Idiot' thread. (grin)

I will milk no Bayne before it's time. And that time will NEVER come. You'll have to pry me from Dar and Grim's cold, dead fingers. :P
