Figure this would be a good purchase for anyone looking to add the 3rd tier unlock during this month's duskruin. It's a fine weapon with quite the powerful, unique script.

Cost of the weapon in it's current state was/is 50k BS - 10k for the weapon, 5k for tier 1 and 35k for tier2.

wow really? I also saw this year's shop listings and can't seem to find OHB parasites, but then again I may be missing something. Thanks for the detail, even more so a fantastic deal for anyone interested.

Yes the wiki hadn’t been update to reflect the price and I went to buy one and it told me 10k more please. My guess is to match sprite weapon pricing.

Yeah the prices went up but the flares on these got tweaked up a bit when they were introduced last time. They flare quite a lot and are very strong.

Anyone test the sprite flares yet?

At full affinity, tier 3 my testing showed the flare rate for parasitic weapons at twice the standard flare rate. But that was a while ago.

I've been trying the sprite flares out, and they're solid already. But my weapon is only at level 3 affinity. We won't really know how strong they are until someone tests them at level 9. Based on parasitic weapons, it'll take 20 days for that to happen.

PS I highly encourage folks to get a cert to change the damage type on the sprite flares. I changed to disintegration, and it's lovely.

I'm at the full tier 2 affinity and now that everyone is mentioning it, it does feel like they are flaring more frequently than before and for what appears to be a higher average dmg.

Are krush flares just not powerful? I thought that would be a pretty desirable flare type considering it's the most popular weapon damage type.

Krush flares are plenty powerful.

But plasma, disruption, and disintegration are even better ;)

I thought the flavor of plasma that appears on normal weapons, and not via 1604, were considered fairly weak and had crappy critical tables (worse than fire)? Also, they can blow you up in the bowels.

Bumping this. MB won't be dropping if anyone is waiting, as the MB is below the BS cost alone for the tiered weapon. Will probably take this one to the grave with me (which is fine).
