We have a great local business that smokes all their own meats. Of German descent so they have a bunch of stuff I've never heard of, but the smoked ham salad is THE BEST. The brats, all their homemade lunchmeats have a smoked taste to them.

Yum.

Stun, you have a smoker? I didn't quite get the reference.

Thanks to the beautiful Gothique and Jolena, I own a jerky maker/hydrator. I made almost 3 pounds of jerky in about a half hour, then as I slept, it cooked. Said jerky was groin-grabbingly good. I like making large amounts and dividing it, and taking a pack with me to work, instead of paying 10 bucks to go out for lunch.

Are Slim Jims addicting or something.. everytime we are at the grocery store, my son always askes me if he can have one. Personally I think they are nasty, but I do love beef jerky.

No more addictive than Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, which I suspect to be laced with heroin.

We'll be able to see your bellybuttons dropping below your knees soon.
I , personally . . can't wait for that.

I'm definately adding a beef jerky machine to my wish list for my b-day. Then I can experiment with different marinades and treatments prior to dehydration. mmmmm mmm mmmm

Besides the tight puma slippers Jolena got me, the jerky machine is the best gift I recieved this year. With the exception of getting to see the look in the kiddo's faces when they got gifts.

I save a hell of a lot of money with the jerky machine, too. That's always a plus.
