10x Perfect Lance with some fun work done to it.

Hey, all. I know, I've been gone for a few years. Life has that effect! Back here tinkering around on my wizard and stuff, don't really play my Paladin or my Warrior anymore, so I'm going to start dropping off their fun toys.

As I have not been around for a few years, I have no clue what new high-level hunting areas have been discovered that have extraplanar beasts. Hopefully some, at least!

It can be cleaned at any time via CLEAN, attacking certain creatures, or after a certain amount of time without killing creatures. It will not work on players. This item can have both a long description and a show description. It can also have custom descriptions when gory. For the long description, it only works when it's fully saturated with gore. Show descriptions will have a varying degree of how gory it is with the custom gory description.

The pike is fully unlocked.

Long Description: None.
Bloody Long Description: a perfect eonake-shot war pike slathered with gore
Ectoplasm Long Description: a perfect eonake-shot war pike slicked with ectoplasm
Blood and Ectoplasm Long Description: a perfect eonake-shot war pike soaked with gore-splattered chunks of flesh
Show Description: None.
Gory Show Description: None.

Yeah, I've seen your lance Pereus. It's pretty nice. Not forged or bane if I read correctly, but those enhancives are ridiculous oh my god. And I'm open to considerations of other offers, but yeah, work has been put in on this in a solid way, not quite as much as yours if I'm being honest, but I like the base of mine more! Perfect forging always sat well with me. I couldn't tear myself away from a forged weapon to a normal weapon because you can't ever put the forging bonuses on a normal one, which BUGGED ME ROYALLY at the EG fair when that 1 merchant said he was considering doing that as a raffle reward in '15. And then never did.

Either way, I'm a bit jealous of your lance. =P

Edit: Who knows. Maybe in the last 3 years you CAN dump perfect forging onto a normal weapon through a raffle win or something! That was so much my dream for my falchion back in the day. 10x VHCW 1lb t5. So pretty. But not forged! ARGH!

It's weird, the lance market ebbs and flows. But with these toothpicks like yours and a few others, it is really difficult to sell them. Best bet is to just keep using it and plug more services into it and enjoy it, maybe one day somebody who wants to burn a whole lotta cash will buy it. Its definitely an awesome lance though, good luck with the sale if you do!! :thumbsup:

The part of the market for weapons that I've always found is people like the base form of a weapon to be the best possible, which is why I started with a perfectly forged lance, and went up from there. I've done more than one sale of a non-forged weapon where people tried to barter down the price saying, "Oh if ONLY it were perfectly forged...". I like to make it so the buyer doesn't have a reason to doubt their purchase because it's like a pyramid, everything is solid from the foundation up.

This is exactly why I only hunted with it on my paladin/warrior, or in places where stuff didn't disarm. To be fair, there are multiple areas for every level range from 25 on where stuff DOESN'T disarm, but it's still terrifying, I agree.

But, bonding, and mostly the help of the community assuages that fear pretty much. I hunted Nelemar and I recovered a RIDICULOUS amount of weaponry there for people who got disarmed/smashed. All it is, to counter your fear, is make yourself known in your hunting ground. People may even not like you, but they won't let someone's weapon get lost. Because it may be THEIR weapon tomorrow. And also because a GM *WILL* track a weapon of THIS caliber <They don't give two shits about a 4x falchion with DCW> and 'assist' you in some small way to locate your weapon should the worst happen. I hunted Nelemar and someone's high work-loaded runestaff was lost. Three hours later a GM came down and it miraculously turned up. I don't remember who's staff it was. it just got returned by a third party. Anyways, it may be that GM's don't help like that anymore, but I know in '15 when I hunted Nelemar, GM's would work around the edges to make sure people didn't just suddenly gank away your 3 grand weapon just because you got disarmed. Who knows. Personal experience and all that.

Still, it's a great weapon. I like returners. I just never needed one because I was a paladin and a warrior and both of them bonded to their hurlers. So much fun hurling, just the DF sucks sometimes argh.

I thought for actual returners the weapon never really left the hand and it was just scripted illusory but hurling a bonded weapon is like dropping the weapon or am I wrong?


It yanks it back. Basically the bond script takes 0-2 seconds to activate. Which doesn't matter, since hurl RT is still going either way.

Well you would lose the fully unlocked gory to get blink. You might be able to keep the base gory where it gets messy while killing but would lose the custom descriptions

Doesn't the "gory" script on this lance already reside in the CATEGORY D slot. Which is the same slot the "blink" script would need to have free in order to be applied. Course, I could be wrong on the location of gory script. Also for the most part, if trying to apply the DR blink cert, they usually are ok with removing an existing property to apply the new one you're trying to use.

Yeah, that's true. But blink won't interfere with any of the current combat sections of the weapon. So you'll lose out on the fun bloody gory script, but gain blink. If that's your thing, I mean. And keep the rest of the weapon.

This is a really good post-cap paladin or warrior weapon. If you purchased this thing and bonded it, disarm would not be an issue.

Even NOT having to worry about the disarm bit because of paladin, I still hunted only non-disarm places. Mostly because getting SWUNG ON without your weapon is a death sentence a lot of the time. Thankfully, there's a BUNCH of post-cap hunting areas that don't disarm, so it was never an issue. I do understand the concern, however.
