I'm going to buy one or the other, as of right now leaning toward the camera...

...any suggestions/advice? Would like to keep it between $200-$300.

Nikon digital camera.

Reasons why I say this.

iPod is great, but over priced and deluged with malfunctions.

Having a digital camera means never having to wait for your pics to develop, not to mention paying for it.

In my opinion, Nikon is the best in the digital capture industry. Canon’s Elph S500 is pretty damn good too. It has video capture also.

You can pick up iShuffle for $100.

If you are looking to spend between 200-300 for a digital camera, I'd suggest a Canon Powershot A85.

We have a Kodak EasyShare that's around the 200-250 range and it works great.

I forgot what it's called, but there's a company coming out with something that is going to blow ipod out of the market.

You can set it up anywhere, it's compatable with any computer, completely wireless and you can tune it into any radio station while in your car. I think the main hit was that it was all wireless.

Anyways, I personally would go with the camera. I have the kodak easy share as well and nothing has gone wrong yet.

What's impressive about this? I can set my MP3 player up anywhere, too. That's why I keep it in my pocket. It's also wireless. A radio can tune to a radio station. So it's a radio that plays MP3s. WOW.

I think the Ipod Minis are cute. A camera is worth more for the money though.

Like I said, there were a lot of details I didn't mention and forgot about. Suppostedly it has more room for your songs, and it's compatable with more things. It's online wireless, even in your car, but it's going to be a free service.

I'm trying to find a link to what was said on the t.v. since I'm failing at my description.

Here you go Bob.

While at the Consumer Electronics Show this year, we were surprised to see the amount of flash drive MP3 players on display from numerous manufacturers. In fact, flash based MP3 players seemed to be the next product line for many companies, even hardware companies like Micro Star International (MSI) that specializes in system motherboards, graphics cards and CD/DVD writers. Aigo was another manufacturer with a lot of MP3 players on display.

While there isn’t much to discuss here, we will report you on the information we received after talking to manufacturers of such players. The flash based MP3 players will get smaller and smaller at affordable prices throughout 2005. They will also feature unique LED lights and displays purely for the attractiveness factor. The players will also come in various shapes to target different objective markets. And of course, the most important aspect will be the longer battery life. Many companies we talked to have quite a few models displayed that hinted on the future of these devices.

While many companies are looking forward to their flash MP3 players, Creative has other plans. Creative was one of the most popular exhibitors on the show floor with their Zen Micro and Zen Touch players on display. Creative’s sole goal this year is to take away some market shares from Apple’s iPod. The company believes it to be a possible task. The ability to download and listen music from any major online retailer, along with the affordable price (about $100.00 price difference between Creative Zen and Apple iPod players with similar capacities), are what Creative is using as their marketing strategies to compete against Apple’s iPod. But other than that, Creative’s products look very much like the iPod with a few changes.

Creative also had their flash based MP3 players on display, which will most likely compete against Shuffle. Many companies should now feel threatened after Apple’s announcement of the aforementioned MP3 player, which will directly contend against many major competitors at a similar price point.

If you have been waiting to get an unique MP3 player all this time, 2005 will bring a lot of new models and improvements in these little wonders.

I actually did wind up buying this. By some odd coincidence, I had bought the 512 Jumpdrive Sport a few months ago.
