Why do some people dread their birthdays? I never understood that concept. Everyone warned me I'd have jitters and anxiety when I turned 30. Well I did, but only because I celebrated it by getting married the next day. Then everyone said I'd be totally bummed out when I turned 40. And the day came, and I thought it was just totally awesome that I had just made it through 40 years of life. It was an incredible feeling of accomplishment.

I'm 42 now, and I'm SO enjoying this phase of my life, and looking forward to the day when I can celebrate my 50th.
No, I'm not in any rush to "get old," but I don't see getting old as something worth getting depressed about. I see it as something to celebrate. Consider the alternative - NOT getting old. Maybe if you think hard on that, you'll realize that aging isn't such a bad thing afterall.

I've been told by my mother, grandmothers and by my mother's female friends that the best period of life for a woman is 40-55. Menopause sucks but the rest is awesome.

Personally I don't mind aging. I am not worried about getting older per se but more of illness and other impediments that usually come with old age. As long as I'll be able to do all the things I enjoy doing, as long as I'll be able to travel and drive, I don't think I'll mind aging. In fact, I am just starting my career but I'm already looking forward to retirement! (I absolutely love my job don't get me wrong.)

I heard the youngest ever to give birth was a 9 year old girl in Alexandria VA sometime in the earlier 1930s.

At least one on record in Peru of a six year old girl succesfully giving birth to a baby boy who I believe lived till about thirty or so, I don't recall the cause of death offhand.

Ill be turning 29 in jan. and i dont mind one bit. If i could find the person who told me "Your best years are in high school so be sure you enjoy them!" I would punch em! My best years have been the last five years or so and im hoping life just keeps getting better.

I had a great birthday. My mother had to work, which was kind of a bummer, but my friend Tom came by and we had a really nice day.

I finally got to see Pirates of the Carribean, and we talked a bunch and then we went and had chinese food, and shopped at Circuit City(I'm such a geek). Then we drove home and hung out at my house for a short time...So then then I went to walk him out, and there was a fireworks display going on! We watched that until about 1030 or so, then he went home.

I couldn't think of a better way to spend my day.:grin:
