The shield has been crafted from some type of obsidian-toned wood that is too difficult to identify beneath the deep black hue of the dye used in its creation. Numerous runes are etched around the outer edges of this well-
crafted shield, their meaning long ago lost to the perils of the battlefield. Three perfectly cut rubies have been imbedded into the wood in a haphazard pattern. A razor-sharp golvern stud has been placed directly in the center of
the shield. You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph.
