That's the article describing the incident where the gold recording artist Houston tried to commit suicide, was detained, and later gauged his own eye out.

I also heard that he has manic depression and was on PCP at the time the incident occured. I'm not sure about the accuracy of that info since I heard it on the radio. Not a very good combo apparently.

Edited because I just noticed Makkah already stated PCP was a factor.

Well, not all drugs. Just drugs that make you want to stab yourself in the eye. One would think there are much more effective means of suicide.

Besides, that's exactly my point. Doing drugs that make you so whacked out that you think stabbing yourself in the eye to commit suicide is a good idea may not be a good plan.

A buddy of mine graduated from the Airforce not to long ago and when he was in Tech School (Job Training) they had them all watch these "self help" videos.

Well, one happened to be about drugs, PCP more specifically. Anyway, he had the fun time of seeing the aftermath of a guy cutting his face off with a piece of glass and feeding it to his dog because he thought the dog "would be hungry".

In short, FUCK PCP.

Did you read the comments at the end of the article? Apparently he did it because he was raised in a Christian home and since the time he signed his deal with the record company he's been exposed to many "sins."

Um... the fact that he didn't try to kill himself by stabbing himself in the eye. He tried to commit suicide by jumping off the 13th floor of his hotel, but was detained by his security before he got to the balcony. He was locked in his hotel room and proceeded to gouge his eye out.
