This actually interests me, mostly because he got these so called scores at an arcade quite near me, I had read his and the oppositions stories for some reason years ago, it was quite weird, who would have thought of a plot to conspire to get video game high scores.

because you can mod an emulator, not to mention play in a more comfortable position etc etc. If you read the stories, he did all kinds of dirty stuff behind the scenes to harm other people and the group that keeps the records

Can anyone exactly tell me what he did to cheat? He apparently used an emulator instead of a genuine original arcade machine but why would that be considered cheating? I read the article but just didn't see how it would be so damning to warrant a complete expulsion from competing ever again.
The record is based on a single, uninterrupted run. An emulator can allow you to use savestates and splice different runs together.

Also, Todd Rogers was stripped of a lot of his records as he and Billy Mitchell were pretty much equally shady.

It was an $11.8 billion industry in the '80s, in '80s cash too. About 30 billion in today money.

Remember when this came out and how funny it was to think of people making huge salaries just for playing videogames? Now we have kids making millions of dollars of month to stream their gaming.

Well, I've been talking about the "video game" industry the entire time.
Arcade alone was 8 billion, or 18.5 billion in 2011 dollars. The '80s was its peak though.

On the surface that sounds fun, but those hardcore paintball/airsoft guys are the worst.

GTA V Breaks All-Time Entertainment Sales Records
90 million copies sold. $6 billion in revenue. It’s official. GTA V, created in Scotland, has beaten every other video game, Hollywood blockbuster and music release in history to become the biggest entertainment product in the world.

I think GTA is racist and seduces young minorities to enter into a life of crime.
