I think the game should have more fun toys like this and make them WAY more available for players.
Not just a handful of amazing weapons that you need 6000 dollars to get a look at.

That's a different game I'm envisioning though so I completely understand it would stop these weapons feeling so great.
Still - the game isn't going to be around forever and I wouldn't want to be left holding an item of that amount when the post saying they're taking their ball home drops.

There already are lots of cool toys widely available, though. It’s the rarity of Uber weapons like these that is part of their cachet. You can have a 10 bow that flares on every shot pretty cheaply by using a 5x wandbow with 5x arrows, and the upkeep cost to replace your arrows is really not that bad. These bows are valued not so much for mechanical advantage as for being really cool and really rare.

They are awesome though and I wish I had one, too.

I think like Warcraft and EQ, we should get rid of arrows and all bows should be self-ammo. BUT that would be extremely over-the-top for one of the most OP weapon choices out there.

You know what, I think that might be the whole reason I felt that way.
I LOVE the hard work that goes into GS. In fact it's the main reason I play and the reason I compare other games to GS.

But there are some great heights we get a glimpse of with a relatively easy amount of grind. Such as heavy crit padding or weighting. Splitting weapons and returners.
Its just a shame that if you want to try a self ammo bow it is gonna cost you WELL more than grinding skins hunting for six months. It's going to take a lot more than that. Maybe even never for some.

Perhaps that's the fun though? Anyway I've hijacked this thread. I'm sorry.
I love legendary weapons and I love that they're hard to acquire. It does feel like some things you have to say 'nope, ill never ever have that' because honestly the only way its possible is by dropping thousands of real money on it and my wife. would. kill. me. :D

I managed to buy my self-ammo bow after a lot of merchanting and some luck with in-game events. When all was said and done, I didn't put a single RL dollar into buying my lirion bow, enchanting it to 10x or adding sighting to it. It takes a lot of patience, work and a good bit of luck to do it... but definitely possible!
