How'd you like ambush with a THW? Does it work pretty well? I've always been scared of the penalties.

I was setup as THW ambusher until recently switching to UAC. It's pretty awesome but probably one of the most TP expensive. I was using a katana and was able to attack from advanced stance because you can get away with lower end rolls. And ambushing with a katana is same speed as with a falchion. It's nice having an open hand to pick stuff up and you only have to worry about acquiring a single weapon. I think I posted a training plan somewhere in the rogue folder within the past year.

I found it l be great. Lots of amputations and with silent strike he's a surgical ninja. Like PowPow stated it's TP intensive but I didn't care about picking so it worked out fine.

The thing wih thw ambushing is its like hammering in a nail with a sledgehammer. Sure, it gets the job done, but you will expend a lot less energy and be much tidier if you use a ordinary hammer.

Sometimes though it feels good to knock down the whole wall when hanging up a picture ;p

So the thing about that is that the DF on THW is higher so you can get away with lower end rolls compared to OHE. This means you can ambush from a lower stance and end up with a higher DS in case you get caught.

If you hammer a nail with a sledgehammer you won't have to swing it as hard.
