I just wanted to pass along to those that use yahoo and have military friends that Ft. Gordon has blocked all traffic from and to yahoo.
This policy is suppose to migrate army wide

Um, why?
Sounds like a good way to boost resentment, disrespect for superiors, and general unhappiness.

tomorrow if I remember I will pull up the intra and internet policy letters and see if I can find out why.

My guess is that it has to do with security.
Whenever either of my brothers tried to e-mail me prior to 9-11 during a security alert, yahoo was the only service they could use to e-mail.
Not that there was any text in the message body, but you can enter a long sting of text in the subject field. Send about 10 yahoo e-mails like that and you have one solid e-mail.
If you do a little research and see what is done at Fort Gordon, you'd understand a little bit better..... It's a security measure. It will block all Yahoo traffic to and from government computers. It's still better than what I get at work. We have one terminal that is hooked up to the outside world and that one is not hooked up to our network at all. There's only three people allowed to even access the thing.
