I suck at computers.

Before anybody comments, i've been a GSer for 10 years and i've never needed or wanted anything like PsiNet, but lately it has started to look attractive to me and I can't get it to work properly. Can't establish a link with the server. Naturally i'm suspicious of the Win XP 'firewall' and i'm pretty sure that it is the reason. Even straight up disabling it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Its probably Psinet itself. Make sure you have the most uptodate version. But Jamus has pretty much quit looking into the huge amount of bugs that has seemed to crop up. You're not missing much at this point

Its still good for autospell up on yourself, and others when its up.. And the ability to just type in the spell number only.

They heyday was usually either quiet with a few good conversations, or certain people saying fuck you and someone else reply no fuck you and the next person saying I killz yew! and things like that.

Has it been up at all in the past few days? I've tried to connect every day since installing it, and haven't been able to once.

The heyday was when Jamus still played and updated it and it had a semi-reliable server.

As for connecting, I find it works better to manually "psinet link" until you get it. I turn off the automatic thing.
