GM Nitid and GM Lothwyn have released Fasthr's Reward (115)!

Fasthr's Reward (115)

Mnemonic: FASREWARD

Duration: Special

A reward granted to Fasthr by the Arkati of Liabo, this spell can provide a second chance to ward an attack spell. On failed a warding against a Spiritual sphere spell, this warding shield has a 50% chance to activate, allowing the target another attempt at warding the spell. This activation causes the warding shield to dissipate, regardless of the result of the second warding roll. Against semi-Spiritual spells, this warding shield is 25%. For non-Spirit spells, the activation chance is 12.5%.

Fasthr's Reward has a flat, 10 minute duration when self-cast and can be refreshed. Otherwise, it has a flat, 2 minute duration, which is not refreshable.

Training in Spiritual Lore, Blessings increases the odds of activation by 1% at 1 rank, with a maximum additional bonus of 19% at 190 ranks. This lore bonus is applied before considering magical sphere.

What a useless piece of shit, my idea for the 115 spell was much more useful

Gonna be a god-send for my bard to find this on scrolls.

I don't understand how people think this is worse than 115? You get two chances to ward something. Quit yer bitching.

Flat self cast duration is bad. Otherwise it'd be decent.

Pretty neat idea... not crazy about the duration though. Better than a useless stun I suppose.

a stacking duration would be dumb IMO...if the shield activates, the spell is removed from you..so stacking 4 hours, then having it removed 10 min later would suck.

Cast it once before a hunt, if it never activates, oh well, if it does, recast :shrug:

>Subarashi gestures at Balinworn.
Strands of webbing shoot forth towards Balinworn.
CS: +319 - TD: +180 + CvA: -21 + d100: +51 == +169
Warding failed!
The dull golden nimbus surrounding Balinworn suddenly begins to glow brightly and then disappears.
CS: +319 - TD: +180 + CvA: -21 + d100: +32 == +150
Warding failed!
Balinworn is firmly webbed in place.

It is a damn useful spell.

I'm inclined to agree, having that second chance will help me alot in Harbs and such, where they have a 60% chance of warding the Ranger.

So what happens if the second ward is far worse than the first warding.... that kinda sucks!

True, though the spell (I believe) only activates when you fail the initial warding roll in the first place. If you are in an area where you can be reliably warded by offensive spells, then you are already depending on luck to see you through.
